Curly hair has a personality all of its own. It’s bold, unpredictable, and sometimes downright stubborn. Over the years, I’ve tried countless brushes and detangling tools, most of which left me with frizz and/or breakage. So when I picked up the Unbrush , I was curious could it really glide through curls without the drama? The design is lightweight, which instantly made it feel less intimidating than the heavy paddle brushes I’ve used before. The flexible bristles caught my eye as they looked like they might actually bend with my hair rather than fight against it. I decided to test it straight after washing, when my curls are at their most delicate. Normally, this is the moment I dread, knots, tangles, and the risk of snapping strands. I am really enjoying using the JVN Conditioning Mist. I have dry, curly, frizzy hair that I straighten quite a lot and this mist really helps to keep my hair hydrated and soft. It can be used on wet or dry hair and provides heat protection, whilst preventing tangles and keeping the frizz at bay. Its vegan friendly and silicone free. It also contains hyaluronic acid. I have tried a few products from the JVN range (created by Jonathan Van Ness) and I have loved them all. I really like the Air Dry Cream and the Nourishing Shine Drops as well. If like me you have naturally curly hair that you regularly straighten then you might be interested in a couple of products that help to tame my frizz when I straighten my hair.  The first one is IGK Mistress Hydrating Hair Balm. This is a leave-in conditioning balm that helps to tame frizzy ends, leaving my hair soft and smooth. You can use it on damp or dry hair and its vegan, cruelty free, paraben & sulfate free, petrolatum and mineral oil free and contains UV protection. It costs £14 for 50ml and £25 for 145ml at SpaceNK . When I blow dry my hair straight I swear by Color Wow Dream Coat. This spray is a humidity sealant which helps prevent frizz and is activated by heat. I recently received some TIGI hair products to try out, one of which was the Bed Head After Party Smoothing Cream*.  I am always on the look out for great hair products especially those that tame my curly hair so I was interested to try this out.   It says that it's a smoothing cream for silky, shiny, healthy looking hair, all of which are essential for my curly and somewhat frizzy hair. The instructions for use are really simple, just smooth on dry hair and party on. I like something that is so easy to use, although I can't say I'm doing much partying on after using it but never mind.   Anyway, I tend to use this to tame the small frizzy little hairs that escape throughout the day when my hair is pulled back in a ponytail for work.   It also works well on the ends when I'm wearing my hair down.    You only need to use a small amount of the product to tame the frizz and my hair feels really silky after I've applied it and...

Earlier in the year I posted about my quest to find curly hair products that really work (you can read the post  here ).  I must admit I've struggled to find many that I would buy again, but  John Frieda Frizz Ease Curl Reviver Mousse does a good job. I do really like this product it's perfect for taming my curls without making them hard and crispy (those of you with curly hair will know what I mean).  I thought it did a really good job of holding my curls throughout the day and I didn't feel like I constantly had to check my hair to make sure it wasn't getting frizzy (the more you worry about it and touch your hair the more it gets frizzy, it's catch 22).  Here's a photo of my hair after using this product and the curls are much more defined than normal and there is definitely less frizz. I have curly hair and I'm always on the lookout for new products as I haven't found my holy grail product for taming my curls yet.  I decided last weekend while out shopping to buy a few curl products I haven't tried before to see if there are any really great products out there.  Join me on my quest.   I bought a couple of products from the John Frieda Frizz Ease Range.  Curl Reviver Mousse and Unwind Curls Calming Creme. I also bought Umberto Giannini Curl Friends Ultimate Curl Nourishing Oil and Lee Stafford HerE come the CurLs. Finally I bought Schwarzkopf got2b Beach matt mermaid look Texturizing Salt Spray. I haven't tested them out yet but just wanted to show you what I'd bought so far.   Also on my wish list are some products from the Aveda Be Curly range but I'm waiting for an offer from somewhere like Harvey Nichols before I splurge. I am always looking for things that make my curly hair easier to manage and one of the top items on my list are hair bands.  Most of the bands that I have been using (material or rubber) end up pulling out some of my hair everytime I try to take them out at the end of the day and over time they get pretty gross with lots of hair tangled around the band.  Recently I have picked up a couple of spiral type bands to see if they are any easier on my hair.  Here's my review of the bands: First up is the Mixed Chicks hair bands which I picked up in Selfridges in London for £3.99.  I am struggling to find these online at a well known store, but I did find them here  although I should point out that I have never purchased anything on this website, so you may need to investigate them a little more before buying .
