I am always on the lookout for sustainable products so I couldn't wait to try out the Tooth Be Told Natural Toothpaste* that I was recently sent. This product is certified by the Vegan Society and helps to reduce the tonnes of plastic waste created every year by millions of discarded toothpaste tubes (more than 1.5 billion toothpaste tubes are discarded every year) as it comes in a container made from sustainably sourced bamboo with a small amount of recycled aluminium. The product itself is not your normal synthetic white toothpaste its midnight black, which when you first see it you wonder if its going to stain your teeth, but it does a really good job cleaning them and there's no staining. They are easy to use, plastic free, compostable, sustainable, eco-friendly and washable. The kit contains a 2oz beeswax block, 3 cotton squares, 3 pieces of parchment paper and a brush. To make your own beeswax wraps, you need to follow these instructions: Preheat oven to 200 degrees. Cover your work area with Kraft paper or newspaper; Line a baking sheet with 1 piece of parchment paper. Place 1 square of fabric on the parchment paper with the pattern facing down; Grate the beeswax using a cheese grater, then measure 1/2 a cup of loosly packed, shredded beeswax; Distribute the beeswax evenly over the fabric. Making sure to reach the edges of the fabric; Place the baking sheet in the oven for 4-8 minutes. Primark is one of those stores that is almost impossible to come out of without purchasing anything.  If any store is responsible for fast fashion then Primark is at the top of the list, so I have been trying to cut back on purchases and at least try to buy products that can be reused instead of thrown away.  Here are some of the reusable products that I have bought recently in Primark. I purchased Alex Steinherr makeup Remover Pads which cost £1.50 for 2 and are like a thick flannel material in a round shape which you can use with water to cleanse your face and remove makeup. The wood cutlery set cost £1.50 and comes with 4 knives, forks and spoons.  I purchased 10 reusable cleansing pads for £2 which are 73% bamboo and 27% cotton and are vegan.  These are a great alternative to face wipes and cotton wool pads and come in a bag that you can keep the used pads in and then throw them straight in the wash. Another step in being more sustainable is moving to reusable straws.  I wouldn't say I use straws loads as I wouldn't use a straw for a hot drink and I usually drink from cans but I should try to use them more as I want to try and protect my teeth from damage as I do drink a lot of Pepsi Max (but that's a whole other story).   I saw these stainless steel and glass reusable straws at Poundland for £1 each (obviously) and thought they were worth a try. The stainless steel ones are all identical with the bend at the top.   They come in packs of 4 and they can be used with hot or cold drinks and a cleaning brush is included.  Cleaning them is easy, you just hand wash them using the cleaning brush which takes a couple of minutes max.  They are hand wash only so can't be put in the dishwasher.  It does advise you to take care using it with hot drinks as the straw may become hot but as I mentioned before I don't really ...
