Tesco Makeup Recycling Scheme with Maybelline

Image
I know I am late to the party with this one, but I don't normally shop in Tesco as until recently I didn't have a local  branch.  Now that's all changed, so I can add makeup to my list of things that I can now recycle.  Tesco have linked up with Maybelline and now have boxes in some branches where you can recycle any brand of makeup. The list of items you can recycle include: Compacts and Pallets Mascaras and Liners Lip Products Plastic Tubes and Bottles Unfortunately you can't recycle Glass, Wood, brushes and polish.  I'm still on the lookout for somewhere you can recycle nail polish and makeup brushes so if you know of anywhere then please let me know. It's great that there is now a place to recycle your old and used up makeup as its the one thing that I didn't know what to do with when I was finished with it.  I'll link my post on The Body Shop recycling scheme as well as some make up can be recycled with them in case you don't have a Tesco branc...

*Beauty Hygiene Essentials from Beauty Hygiene Plus Review

Image
*I received these products for free but the opinions are my own. If you are looking for stocking fillers for anyone that is into b eauty then one option is this great little sanitising set and even better its on offer at the moment.  I love this great little kit of Beauty Hygiene Essentials * from Beauty Hygiene Plus . The set contains 50ml spray bottles of Quick Dry Beauty Tools Sanitising Spray, Quick Dry Brush Cleaning Spray, Quick Dry Makeup Sanitising Mist and Deep Cleanse Sponge & Brush Wash. The kit also comes with a travel size set of makeup brushes which is a nice touch and comes in a zip bag which makes them easy to carry on your travels. I think many of us are guilty of forgetting (being too lazy!) to wash our makeup brushes and tools on a regular basis and I am horrified to admit it, but I have never sanitised my makeup after use, so this little set is perfect for me. Beauty Hygiene Plus is the consumer product arm of Beauty Science UK who are an es...

Beautylish Original Lucky Bag 2021 Review - UK Purchaser

Image
Beautylish Lucky Bags are mystery boxes full of beauty products including makeup and skincare.  I don't purchase any subscription boxes nowadays as I was just overloaded with products that I never use but I can't resist the Beautylish Lucky Bags.  They  are on offer once a year and it's nice to get a box full of surprises especially from America as a lot of the products are either brands we can't get over here or brands I haven't tried before.    The Original Lucky Bag costs $75 (approx £55) and includes at least $150 worth of products which is a good deal.  Obviously you don't know what you are getting but getting double the amount of surprise products is ok with me.    There is a Jeffree Star Lucky Bag as well but I'm not a big fan as there are a lot of outlandish colours in his collection and that's just not for me as I can't carry those colours off.  Beautylish also offer an XL Lucky Bag (and a Jeffree Star option) which costs $150 for ...

Fenty Beauty Makeover in Harvey Nichols

Image
I have a confession to make, I am rubbish at applying makeup even though I have tons of it.  WTF.  I nearly always go for a natural look when I wear makeup but that is because if I did anything more obvious I would probably end up looking like a clown.  That does not stop me buying more make up as it is just an addiction, I love all the pretty packaging and lovely colours. Anyway recently I have been attending beauty events in the likes of Debenhams, Harvey Nichols etc some of which are to watch demos of make up being applied such as a beauty event at Debenhams where brands such as  Urban Decay did a make over and more recently at a Harvey Nichols Fenty Beauty  masterclass event where one of the Fenty Beauty UK Ambassadors did a demo which showcased Fenty Beauty products and showed how easy they were to apply.  Yes it is a way to encourage sales and yes I did buy some items, but what I took from each event is that you don't have to go overboard with y...

MAC Prep + Prime Fix+ Setting Spray Watermelon and Pineapple Review

Image
I think I have found the cutest beauty product of this summer.  I was browsing in Harvey Nichols this week and I couldn't help but find myself in the MAC section and came across the limited edition range of their great Prep + Prime Fix+ Setting Spray in 5 different Summer scents including a Watermelon version. Now anyone that knows me knows my favourite scent is Watermelon Lemonade see my post here , so there was no way I was leaving the Watermelon version behind, I also picked up the pineapple version as well as it's such a lovely scent.   I think they have only recently come out with this range and as soon as I passed the stand in Harvey Nichols I zeroed in on this range.   The scents are so fruity and smell so lovely and fresh.  There all come in fantastic packaging as well and as they are minis they are great for on the go.   I use these not only to set my makeup but also as a face mist to freshen up and cool down throughout the day and night. There...

Colourpop Disney Designer Collection Ultra Glossy Lip

Image
I'm a big Disney fan and love to visit the Disney Theme Parks whenever I get the chance.  So far I have visited Walt Disney World in Orlando, Disneyland in California and Disneyland Paris and I can't wait to go back to all of them.  When I saw that Colourpop had brought out a Disney Designer Collection I didn't need much encouragement to purchase some of them.  Sadly I couldn't buy the whole collection so I settled on the Ultra Glossy Lips. Luckily there was free international shipping on when I placed my order which saved me some money. I bought all 3 and who could resist with names like Bibbidi, Bobbidi Boo.   The packaging is fab as well.  They all come in black boxes with gold writing and multi coloured stars as well as the names of the Disney Princesses written on them.  Absolutely lovely.  The glossies themselves are great as well. Bibbidi is a clear gloss with subtle shimmer which looks great by itself or over a lipstick.  Its ...

Charlotte Tilbury Brand Review - My Thoughts on the Products

Image
I thought I would start 2019 by reviewing some of the Charlotte Tilbury products that I own and letting you know what I think about the brand as a whole.  Charlotte Tilbury products are pretty pricey, so I try to pick them up when there is a discount or a gift with purchase offer.  I think the packaging is some of the best in the beauty business (rose gold and old Hollywood, what's not to love) and I do love that Charlotte herself posts makeup tutorials on her website, to show you how to get the best out of her products.  I seem to have accumulated quite a few products from her range, but I would say overall that I own more lip products than anything else.  I favour nudes and pinks with the odd dull red colour thrown in for good measure.  Here are some of my favourites. From left to right: American Sweetheart, Secret Salma, Very Victoria, English Beauty & Stoned Rose American Sweetheart is from the K.I.S.S.I.N.G range and is described as a natural...
