What Skin Needs Skin Balm & Soothing Skin Gel Review

Image
I was kindly sent two products from the What Skin Needs range to try out, Skin Balm* & Soothing Skin Gel*.   I really like this range as I have already tried out their Hydrating Facial Serum* and really liked it. Read my review here . The first product I tried out was the Skin Balm. Skin Balm costs £9.99 for 75ml and I must say that it is definitely staying as part of my skincare routine.  I use it twice a day in the morning and evening before bed and use a small amount of product which I rub into my elbows and it absorbs really quickly leaving behind no greasy residue. I have to say that I was very impressed with this product.  I have really dry, cracked skin on my elbows and usually nothing I use makes much of a difference but I used this for a couple of days and my elbows were much smoother with no cracked skin at all.  This product is recommended for - reducing irritations, dry and damaged skin, revives stressed skin and skin cell renewal. Challenges for 2017 - Update

Image
I am setting myself monthly challenges for 2017 and I just wanted to post about my progress so far.  You can read my last update here .  So far I have completed 3 challenges and I've set myself 2 more. Challenge 3 - Completed This challenge was to wear all of the jewellery that I own (obviously not at the same time ).  I have so much jewellery, but I rarely make the effort to wear any of it, so I decided that I would wear every piece at least once.  Basically, once I had worn a piece of jewellery, I would place it into a separate drawer, that way I would always know which pieces I still had to wear.  This worked perfectly and now that I have worn everything. I am in the process of wearing it all again and gradually putting it back in the correct place.  It was a also a great way to declutter some of the pieces that I no longer liked. This is the majority of my necklace collection This is just a small part of my ring and bracelet collection Challenge 4 This challe

Makeup Revolution Retro Luxe Metallic Lip Kit

Image
I love metallic lipsticks right now especially Colourpop Ultra Metallic Lip (Qween, 3-Way & Maneater).  As Colourpop is quite expensive to have shipped to the UK, I was happy to see that Makeup Revolution has come out with Makeup Revolution Retro Luxe Metallic Lip Kits (I guess this would be Makeup Revolutions take on Kylie Cosmetics lip kits.  I don't have any myself but the packaging looks similar).  I love the metallic packaging that the lip kits come it, it's gorgeous. Each lip kit contains a lip contour lip pencil & a liquid lipstick.  They cost £6 each, but there was a 3 for 2 offer on at Superdrug , so I got 3 for £12.  I bought the shades We Rule, Sovereign and Worth It. From Left to Right - Worth It, We Rule & Sovereign Worth It is a metallic berry shade.  It's really smooth and creamy and easy to apply and only 1 coat is required.  The pencil is slightly lighter than the lipstick.  It does not dry down on your lips as it's not a matt

Love Lula Beauty Box May 2017

Image
As this is my last Love Lula beauty box for a while I thought I would show you what I received this month.  I have decided to unsubscribe from all the beauty boxes at the moment as I have a big stash of products that I want to use and the mountain of beauty products that I have in my house just keeps increasing every month with each new beauty box.  I have really enjoyed all the beauty boxes that I subscribed to (Birchbox, You Beauty and Love Lula), but I just need to take a break so that I can get minimise the amount of new products that are coming in every month.  Here's what was in this months Love Lula box. Ogario London Styling Mist  (this is a full size 60ml product worth £16) - This boosts volume and control and contains lemon zest and oats to keep hair shiny and strengthened. Laidbare DIY Two in One Cleanser & Toner (this is a full size 125ml worth £6.99) - I haven't come across this type of 2 in 1 product before so it will be interesting to see how wel

Primark Metallic Makeup Collection Haul

Image
As usual I couldn't resist picking up a few things when I popped into Primark.  Their Makeup range has really upped it's game over the last year or so.  I love the gorgeous metallic makeup that's in store at the moment.  I couldn't stop putting things in my basket. First up is the PS Precious Metals Nail Polish .  I loved these as soon as I saw them and when I tried them on at home they were as good as they looked.  The colours are: L-R Groupie/Starstruck/Rock N Gold Groupie is a dark bronze colour Starstruck is a copper colour Rock N Gold is a pale gold colour They all needed 2 coats to look opaque and they look fantastic.  They cost £1.50 each (total bargain) for 10.5ml, but look like they are from a premium range. I think these will look great  all year round. Next I bought 2 PS Precious Metals Liquid Eyeshadows which were £2 each. I bought Copper Dip and Molton Gold which are both lovely colours.  They really do stick to your eyelid a

Next Blend & Create Eau De Toilette

I recently picked up a couple of free sample perfume layering sets at Next.  There are 6 fragrances designed to be worn on their own or layered with each other.  I think this is a great idea and it was nice to see they were offering some free samples so that you can try it out before you commit to buying. There are at least 6 different fragrances available online and in store and I got 5 of them in the little sample kits.  The fragrances are: Aqua - described as Sparkling Ozonic & Powdery Musks Floral Rose - Rose, Jasmine & Muguet Amber Woods - Sandalwood Amber & Orris Fresh Green - Violet Leaf, Apple & Pear Citrus Zest - Bergamot, Green Tea & Lemon Sweet Fruits - Vanilla, Caramel & Cassis (this fragrance wasn't included in the sample set). There are suggestions on layering the scents on the back of the pack which is helpful, but of course you could just freestyle and try out your own combinations.  You can buy the 6 Piece Fr

You Beauty Box May 2017

Image
As this is the last You Beauty Box that I am going to receive for a while I thought I would do a quick review.  I am stopping my subscription in order to try and use up my huge stash of products and even though this box is great value, I just don't need any more products coming in at the moment.  I have been subscribing to various beauty boxes for at least 3 years, so I have built up quite a stash just from them, so I thought it was time to give them all a rest. This months You Beauty Box is called The Global Edit and the selection contained favourite beauty products from around the world.  I picked Indeed Laboratories 10balm Soothing Cream which was a full size 30ml (valued at £19.99).  This is a nourishing cream developed specifically for distressed and sensitive skin.  I also picked Resultime Hydrating Cream which contains Hyaluronic Acid and Shea Butter to nourish and hydrate.  This was a 15ml travel size (worth £13.50).  Finally, the extra treats in the box were 3 sample

Footner CoolActive Masssager & Nailner Treat & Colour Review

Image
I was recently sent the Footner CoolActive Massager * to review.  This came at the right time as I have quite a few aches and pains in my feet at the moment, so I was looking forward to trying it out, especially with the unusually hot days we have been having this Spring.  The Footner CoolActive Massager is a roller ball massager with a cool foam that comes out of the massager when you press the roller ball down.  You massage each foot for at least 2 minutes, pressing down for more foam as you need it.  This is great for when I've been at work all day or after I've been out for a long walk on an evening.  It cools down my feet and the massage is really nice and relaxing, so it's a lovely way to wind down in the evening.  I also have pains in one of my heels at the moment and it really helps make my heel feel more comfortable when I massage it with this product. The Footner CoolActive Massager is currently £24.99 and is available at Boots . It provides up to 90
