Sally Beauty Haul - Leeds Flagship Store

Image
Sally has opened a flagship store in Leeds, which is their first shop in the North of England.  It's on Albion Steet in Leeds City centre.  It's a really great shop that sells a wide variety of hair and beauty products. When I found one in Leeds I couldn't resist going in and browsing (who am I kidding I mean buying). There was loads of stuff I was tempted to buy, but I managed to restrain myself and only buy a few things.   Here's what I bought. The Wet Brush Detangling Hairbrush.  I am very attached to my Tangle Teezer as it makes brushing my curly hair a breeze, but I heard really great things about this brush on a few blogs so thought I would try it out. This was £8.99.  I did find this easy to use on my hair and it is just as good as my trusty Tangle Teezer.  It really gets through the knots, without pulling my hair out like most normal brushes. Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum.  I've never heard of this before so thought I would give it a try.  It

The Original WACKY Sox

Image
I thought I would write a quick post on some wacky sox I couldn't resist buying recently.  I was just browsing around some shops at an event I attended recently and the bright colours caught my eye like a magpie.  I really liked the look of them and they will go well under my Hunter boots this winter.  I couldn't decide on just one pair, so in the end I bought 3. They were £10 each or 3 for £25 (it would be rude not to buy 3 with that offer surely). L-R Milky Way, Purple Smoothie & Dark Desires You can find their website  here .  I can't find the offer online where you can pick 3 of any style for £25 but there are some special offers on the site that are worth looking at if you fancy more than one pair.  They generally seem to range in price from £7.99 - £9.99 depending on size.  Sadly I have big feet so have to pay top whack.  If you are really creative you can even design your own socks, although I think there is a minimum order for that so it would have to b

You Beauty Discovery Box Review - September 2014

Image
I have just received the September  You Beauty Discovery Box and as You Beauty Discovery is now a year old, it’s the birthday treat box. Everyone received a discount of £25 off your first order with Hello Fresh (I haven’t decided if I will make use of this yet). We also received two soothing Crabtree & Evelyn tea Bags – Classic Afternoon Tea and New Green Tea with Blackberry (I really wish that beauty box companies would stop putting tea bags in their boxes as not everyone drinks tea). There is also a little face sponge, which may come in handy for applying foundation on the go.  As a birthday treat everyone also received a full size tub of Toni&Guy GLAMOUR Volume Plumping Whip(90ml worth £7.19). This gives your locks body and bounce from the roots (again not a product I will use as my curly hair has enough body and bounce already). Now onto the products that I chose: Eyeko Hydrogel Eye Patch (2 sachets containing 2 eye patches in each worth

L'Occitane Instyle Shopping Night Haul

Image
I went to my first shopping event at L’Occitane last week which was organised by Instyle Magazine. It cost £10 for a ticket and there was a free goodie bag and a 15% discount on skincare available for those who attended. There were also treatments and snacks available.   I arrived at the store just after 6.30pm to be greeted by a staff member who explained what would be happening. I then went downstairs to the main shopping area to check out some of the products. There were about 12 people there in total and there was a group of people already sitting down near the treatment area, so I browsed around the store and was offered a glass of champagne which I happily accepted. Someone came over and explained some of the products, but luckily there was no hard sell.  I was then  offered a skin consultation where the assistant applied some of the products from the Immortelle and Divine ranges and explained how and when to apply them and what the benefits were. That was re

Degustabox Review - August 2014

Image
I just received the August 2014 Degustabox.   Degustabox is the food equivalent of a monthly beauty box and costs £12.99 per month.  If you are interested in signing up you can check the details out here .  Here's more details of what was in this months box: Mexican Dave's Legendary Tortilla Chips (225g worth £1) - I do like tortilla chips to dip in salsa and guacamole, but sadly I haven't been able to taste these as they had burst open in the box.  I contacted Degustabox and they will send me another pack in next months box. BerryWhite Organic Drinks (330ml worth £1.59) - these organic drinks are made from premium, organic ingredients with no added sugar or fruit sugars and no artificial preservatives.  I received the Goji Berries with Peaches, White Tea & Echinacea. I have tried this and it's got quite a weak taste which is ok, but I wouldn't rush out and buy another. Caribbean Twist Cocktails Strawberry Daiquiri  (70cl worth £2.50) - A sparkl
