Beauty, Bargains and Beyond

The final part of my holiday was Hollywood and Santa Monica. We got a late afternoon flight from Las Vegas back to LAX, to maximise our time in Las Vegas.  The flight set off a little late, only because the short haul flights have to land at a specific time at a busy airport like LAX, so they set off late to arrive exactly on time (if that makes sense) and therefore, the flight was quicker because of this which I'm not complaining about.  We had booked the Supershuttle to get from the airport to our hotel in Hollywood as it takes at least 45 minutes, so a taxi would have been expensive.  I think the cost of the Supershuttle was approx. £11 each (booked in advance).  We had to wait about 30 minutes for the minibus and in the end we were the only passengers and boy did our driver complain to us about that (apparently they only get paid per passenger, rather than per trip).   We arrived at our hotel Loews Hollywood in the heart of Hollywood...

I have been meaning to write this blog post about my holiday for such a long time but it's taken me ages to get round to it. I wanted to go back to LA and Disneyland since visiting back in 2013.  I really enjoyed it there when I visited for the first time as there is loads to do, plus it gives me a chance to get a Disney fix.  I went for 15 days and decided to spend the first 4 days at Disneyland, then visit Las Vegas for 3 days and finish off in Hollywood. This gave me plenty of variety on my holiday.  I decided to do Disney first as if you have visited yourself you will know it requires a lot of walking vast distances and a lot of early mornings.  Jet lag is your friend for a Disney holiday as it gets you up early.  I was up at around 5 or 6am most days I was at Disney and popped out for breakfast every morning.  I went to IHOP the first morning as I wanted to try the French Toast or Pancakes, but to be honest the portions are so big once was e...

These are my top 5 holiday destinations: Orlando, Florida - I have been loads of times over the years, but it's a place that I never get bored of as there is so much to do.  There's something new every time I visit.  My favourite places are Disney World and Universal Studios. Harry Potter Brought to Life at Universal Las Vegas - This is another place that I have visited a few times and I would love to go back to.  There is so much to do and the hotels are amazing.  The shopping's not bad either.
