Fashion Nails Halloween False Nails

Image
I love that Halloween now seems to be a big thing in the UK.  I remember going Trick or Treating when I was younger but there wasn't the big array of costumes that there are now. I was either a witch or a black cat and don't get me started on the fact that we didn't carve pumpkins we carved turnips!!!!! Anyway when I was browsing in Boots the other day I came across these fab nails that I just had to buy. They are all great designs and there are 4 options (I only bought 3 as there was a 3 for 2 offer on them).  The 3 I picked up have skull prints on them (these are mix and match nails).  There are the Gold Glitter Skull , the black, red and pink skull and the Skull Diva Stiletto Skull .  There is also Vampire Chic Stiletto nails which was the pack I didn't pick up.  Even though I wont be dressing up for Halloween I will have a chance to get in the spirit in a small way by putting on the nails.   They were originally £3.99 each but are now £1....

Lazy Girls Guide to..... Nails

Image
So I'll admit that  although I have a lot of make up, nail polish and beauty products, I am a pretty lazy person and the majority of the time I either don't wear make up or wear minimal makeup.  The choice between getting up earlier for work to apply make up or have extra time in bed is an easy one for me. Even painting my nails is a chore as I am not patient enough to wait for my nails to dry, so inevitably I always spoil at least one nail before I go out.  I don't have the best nails and I never have the time to get my nails done professionally.  When I have attempted to wear false nails in the past I have always  been worried about them popping off, which always seemed to happen to me.  Anyway the point of this post (I will get there eventually) is to say that I have found some nails that are not only easy and quick to put on, but they actually stay on as well.  Elegant Touch Express 3 minute Man...

Broadway imPRESS Press-On Manicure False Nails

Image
On my recent trip to London, I decided to try out some Broadway imPRESS Press-On Manicure false nails as my nails are so short at the moment. I think that I bought these particular ones in America, but you can get different patterns over here in Superdrug  for £7.99 (although there is an offer on right now for £5.32 which is a third off).  You can also buy them in Boots, although they are all sold out online, so it would be worth checking out the larger Boots stores if you live near one.  The nails I used are so pretty, with a floral pattern on a white background (they don't have a name on the packaging just a code KL0625).   They are really easy to apply, just remove the plastic covering on the back of the nail and then press it onto your own nail. No glue is needed as they have a self adhesive on the back of the nails.  They stayed on for 4 days which is really good as I put them through quite a lot during the 4 days I wore them. They are very easy...

Pound Shop Haul

Image
I popped into a couple of pound shops on Saturday at Crown Point in Leeds and picked up some pretty nice bargains.     First of all I picked up some Dainty Doll eyeshadows and an eye base.  There were quite a few colours available and helpfully, the shop had put a sticker on each bag with the colour on it.  I passed on the yellow and blue which I think will be a bit too vibrant for me and went with the orange and brown colours.  Teach Me Tiger is a burnt orange colour which is also shimmery. When swatched it looks very similar to Nars Orgasm Blush, just a bit more pigmented.  Are You Experienced is a matte brown colour and is very pigmented.  I think this will work well as a crease shade or lining the eye.  The eyeshadow base is very pale as you would expect from this range and needs blending in quite a bit before it disappears into the skin, but I have tried it under both shadows and it works a treat.  My eyelids are quite oily ...
