The Popmaster Card Game* is based on the Ken Bruce National Radio show. This popular quiz is a game in which players compete against each other to test their music knowledge with a series of music-themed trivia questions. This set contains over 200 questions, so is great for family get together's or when travelling, to pass the time.

Popmaster Card Game by Ginger Fox

There are 69 question cards with 3 questions and answers on each card. Its really simple, all you have to do is shuffle the cards and place them face down on the table. You can either have one player ask all the questions or the person to the right of the first player draws a card from the top of the deck and asks the first question to the first player. If the player answers the first question correctly, then they score 1 point and move on to the second question. If the player gets the second question correct, then they move on to the third question. If at any point they get an answer wrong, then that is the end of their turn and it moves on to the next player.

You can decide how many rounds to play and you need to keep score and tally up at the end of the game to see who won. The questions increase in difficulty so question 1 and 2 are worth 1 point each and question 3 is worth 2 points. The first question is multiple choice, the 2nd question is a teaser and the third is name the year. If at the end of the game it is a tie, then a player that is not involved in the tiebreak should draw a new card and ask the players 3 questions each. The winner is the person who answers the most questions right and you can keep asking questions until there is an outright winner.

Here is an example of the questions on 1 card. Would you get any of them correct?

1. London's Calling was a best selling album by which band?

a. The Clash

b. The Ramones.

c. The Sex Pistols

My guess was The Clash - I was correct although this was a complete guess on my part

2. Which singer was born Reginald Kenneth Dwight?

My guess was Elton John - this was correct and I did know this one

3. In what year did the band Take That Reform?

I should know this as I have been to all their concerts.

My guess was 2010 - it was actually 2006

This is a great little game and you don't have to be a music expert to have fun. The Popmaster Card Game costs £8.99.
