My Goals for 2025

I wanted to write down some goals for 2025, to help me monitor my progress and keep myself accountable. Here is a quick rundown of some of the things that I want to achieve this year:

  1. Try to avoid buying anything new and/or full price in 2025. I will allow myself to purchase items from charity shops and repurchase any health and beauty products that I fully run out of, but I do want to become more mindful of my purchases in 2025. Just because something is in the sale, doesn't mean that I have to buy it!
  2. Declutter, Declutter, Declutter. I will be shopping my huge stash of products and clothing this year, but I also want to get rid of anything that I can't make use of as well. I will be aiming to sell some things on eBay, Vinted and Depop to recoup some of the money that I have wasted in the past, donating things to charity and also sending some things to be recycled. My bedroom is a hoarders delight right now, with piles of clothes stashed in bags and piles of boxes stashed in boxes hidden away. Out of sight, out of mind which means that I often forget what I have already and then go out and buy something when I really don't need to.
  3. Adopt a more healthy lifestyle. I want to set myself a target of exercising everyday, whether that is going for a walk or doing some Yoga from YouTube. There is no excuse not to find 30 minutes in my day to do some form of exercise.
  4. I want to start cooking from scratch which is linked to adopting a more healthy lifestyle. I am not going to be cooking from scratch everyday as I have a full time job Monday to Friday and I have a horse that fills my time on a weekend, but I want to relay much less on takeaways and eating out which is also very costly. I have dipped my toe into cooking with the use of weekly recipe boxes, but I want to be able to try out some simple recipes and maybe try out batch cooking.
  5. I would like to read more books this year. I have hundreds of books stashed in my bedroom, but never seem to have time to read as I always choose to constantly scroll social media. My favourite authors include Lee Child, Karin Slaughter and Kathy Reichs, so I am going to get stuck into some of their books this year.
  6. I already mentioned that I have a horse and I would like to spend more time at the stables improving my riding and taking more time to enjoy being with my horse. Its an expensive hobby and I also dont live close to the stables, which means that I spend at least 1.5 hours on a round trip to ride my horse so I want to make more of an effort this year with him. Having a horse kept me sane during the Covid years and whilst it can be hard work in the winter months, I don't want to take it for granted as I am very lucky to be able to have a horse. It was my dream to have my own horse since I was about 10 years old and it took me nearly 20 years to achieve my dream. Luckily I share the costs with my sister which makes things much easier.
  7. Keep things tidy, or tidier at least. I am going to adopt the little and often trick of doing a little bit every day, so that nothing builds up. I am sick and tired of having piles of clothes to wash or piles of dishes to put in the dishwasher. Its so much easier to do things straight away and clean one room at a time in 20 minute slots.
  8. Make the effort to visit places I have never been to in the UK or have rarely visited. I am thinking Edinburgh, Harrogate and York. I don't even live that far from Harrogate and York, but I never have time to plan a visit, so hopefully that will change this year.
  9. Save money. Hopefully I will be able to save some money this year if I don't buy new clothes or products that I already have. I am interested to see how much money I can transfer to my savings account at the end of every month.
  10. Don't stress out so much. I'm not an airline pilot or a heart surgeon, so nothing should be so stressful that it keeps me awake at night. Everything at work can be solved even if I need to ask for help. Everything at home can be dealt with as long as I don't procrastinate and let things pile up.
  11. I was going to leave it at 10, but I have just thought of something else. I am going to try and write blog posts every week in 2025 and also post more on my YouTube channel and TikTok.
What are your goals for 2025?
