Birchbox Review - February 2014

Its always nice to receive a beauty box to open at the end of a hard day and Birchbox is one of  my favourites.  Its very rare that it disappoints and Februarys box is no exception.  The theme of this months box is We Love Your Style (inspired by London Fashion Week).  Here's what I received in my box.

Leighton Denny Nail Polish in the colour Meteor Match.  This is a full size product worth £11.  This is a shimmering pale marine colour injected with glitter.  This is a really nice colour, but it does take at least 3 coats to become opaque.

Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner in Black.  I already have this from a magazine freebie last year and I don't use liquid eyeliner so I will give this one to a friend.  This is just over half the size of the normal full size product and is worth approx £6.85 (based on full size retailing at £12).

Gilchrist & Soames Shower Gel 45ml.  In all honesty this looks like the sort or product you would get free at a hotel so its nothing special but I will use it. This is worth approx £2.60. Its a Paraben-free shower gel with Red Tea, Grape Seed and Milk Thistle that has a subtle yet refreshing scent.

Beauty Protector Protect & Oil nourishing hair oil. This product keeps hair healthy, shiny and happy. Beauty Protector Oil will guard against UV rays and heat, while it’s smoothing and strengthening qualities work tirelessly. It doesn't say how big this sample is, but I would estimate its around 10ml. The full size product is £16, but again I cannot find how big the full size product is so cannot estimate the value of this one.

Janjira Argan Oil Concentrate Serum. Youth boosting nutrients and firming oat extracts blend with argan oil to plump and protect skin. This is £48 for 30ml. Again, it doesn't state on the packaging how much product is in the sample, so I cannot estimate the value, but this product is pretty expensive so even if its only 5ml its a decent value.

Finally I received a Green & Blacks Organic Dark Chocolate with 70% cocoa solids. This is prefect timing as I have just completed my 30 day chocolate ban and I think I am going to start eating dark chocolate rather than milk chocolate as its much richer and you are less likely to eat too much of it.

I am excited about next months box as it is a collaboration with Lulu Guinness.

Heres my referral link if anyone is interested in subscribing http://birchbox.co.uk/?raf=1387. I will receive 50 Birchbox points for anyone who subscribes using this link. Alternatively, heres the normal link to the website https://birchbox.co.uk/. The monthly subscription is £10 per month plus £2.95 postage.

What did you get in your box?

  2. Hi Catherine
I love Birchbox as it rarely disappoints unlike most other beauty boxes which I have stopped buying over the last few years.
