*Newton’s Lab Make Your Own Painting Pendulum & Make Your Own Hydraulic Claw
*I received these products for free but the opinions are my own.
I was recently sent some sets to review that help children learn as they play and I must admit that they keep adults entertained as much as the kids. If you have an interest in science and art then read on.
Newton’s Lab Make Your Own Painting Pendulum* lets you learn about the forces of gravity while making your own pieces of art. It is made with die-cut cardboard, pieces of string, tempera paint and a syringe. You build it yourself using the instructions on the back on the box and then watch it create your piece of art. I must admit my eye sight isn't the best and I did struggle a bit with the instructions in certain light. I would have preferred a set of black and white instructions in the box to make it a little bit easier. It is fun though to see what it creates and allows your child to learn as they play. It costs £13.50 and is available from Kikkerlandeu.com.
Newton’s Lab Make Your Own Hydraulic Claw* helps you to teach your child about robotics, explore engineering and build a hydraulic lifting claw. Again the instructions on how to build the Hydraulic Claw are on the back of the box and I didn't find them the easiest to read (maybe time for new glasses). There's plenty of fun to be had seeing what you can pick up with the claws. The kit includes die-cut cardboard pieces, PVC tubing, a syringe and screws. It costs £15 from Kikkerlandeu.com.
Here's a bit more about the collection. The Kikkerland Newton’s Lab collection is named after the father of modern physics Isaac Newton. These sets are a fun way of learning about science, whilst building, creating, and seeing the laws of physics in action. Children will see with their own eyes how physics works in real life. Each experiment kit shows a different scientific principle, including optics, hydraulic forces, gravitational forces, and aerodynamics. There are some other items from the collection here.
