SensatioNail Gel Starter Kit

I was recently sent the SensatioNail Gel Starter Kit* to try out.  I have already tried the SensatioNail Polish to Gel Transformer Kit and reviewed it here.  I really liked the Polish to Gel Kit as it worked so well, so I was looking forward to trying out the Gel Starter Kit to see if it was as good.  I received the Scarlet Red colour which is just right for the Christmas period.

It's very easy to apply this Gel Polish and when you take into account how long it takes your nails to dry when applying standard nail polish, I do think this is quicker.

Initially, you prepare your nails by filing and buffing them, then wiping them over with a Gel Cleanser that comes with the kit.  You  then apply one layer of the Gel Primer and air dry your nails.  Once your nails are dry you apply a thin layer of the Gel Base and Top Coat which again comes with the kit.  Then cure your nails for 15 seconds.  It's great that the Gel LED Lamp blinks at 15 seconds and turns off at 30 seconds, so it's hard to get your timings wrong.  Once that's done you apply a thin layer of the Colour Gel Polish  and cure for 30 seconds.  Apply a second layer and cure again for 30 seconds.  Finally you apply another layer of the Gel Base and Top Coat and cure for 15 seconds.  To remove the moisture layer use the Gel Cleanser and lint free wipes.  This is all really easy to do and you are left with great nails for up to 2 weeks.  My manicure lasted 10 days before I got a couple of small chips but they were barely noticeable and it was only on day 13 that I had to remove the polish as I got a bigger chip on my nail.

You can also add glitter to your nails as part of this process, which is really easy to do and creates some really pretty nails.    Nail Glitter costs £2.50 but there are some good offers if you buy more then one here.

To remove the polish you need to use the grey side of the buffer to buff and file the surface of the entire nail to break the top coat seal.  Soak nails in acetone for 15 minutes and then use the manicure stick to gently push the remaining gel polish off the nails.  It's pretty easy to do and the polish comes off fairly easily.

I really like this Gel Starter Kit.  It's very easy to use and if you regularly get a gel manicure it's going to save you so much money and look very professional.

The SensatioNail Gel Starter Kit is available for £49.99 at Boots.  This seems like a lot of money but considering how much a professional manicure costs it's a worthwhile investment, that's going to save you money.  There are lots of colours available and the nail polishes by themselves cost £15.
