Bend It Like Beckham The Musical

I've just got back from 2 days in London and I had a great time.  I went to see Bend It Like Beckham The Musical while I was there as I loved the film and I also like Jamie Campbell Bower who starred in The Mortal Instruments and Twilight (to name just a couple of movies he's been in).

This really was a fab show, really funny and engaging and I loved the songs. I must admit one of the things I was worried would let the show down was the songs as the film that it's based on was not a musical, but they were all really catchy.  The actors were fantastic and the leads had great chemistry.  I really enjoyed watching the entire cast.  The traditional Indian family of Jess the female lead were really funny and there were plenty of laugh out loud moments throughout the show.  I loved that the cast kept walking through the aisles when they exited the stage as well.  We were sitting by the centre aisle, so enjoyed the fact that so many of the main cast walked right past us.

I would totally recommend going to see this musical if you are visiting London. It's on at The Phoenix Theatre on Charing Cross Road.  We were near the back of the stalls and still had a great view as it's a relatively small theatre.

I'm not sure how long the show is playing for but if you are in London it's definitely worth going to see as it's a real feel good musical.  I would definitely go see it a second time.
