YOU Beauty Discovery Box Review - May 2014

The choices for You Beauty Discovery Box this month were so good that I had to get 2 boxes.  Here's what I received.



I chose:
  • dr.organic Moroccan Argan Oil Hair Treatment Serum - this is full size (100ml) and costs £14.99
  • GlamGlow Supermud Clearing Treatment 10g x2 (worth approx £13 each)
  • GlamGlowYouthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment - 15g (worth £15)

 I also received the following in my boxes:
  • Lizi's Granola - Treacle & Pecan 40g & Original 50g
  • Charles Worthington Moisture Seal Hair Healer Leave-in Conditioner Sachet 2x10ml (includes a £2 off coupon for Charles Worthington range in Boots)

There was lots to choose from this month, but you have to get in quick for the popular items.  Even though I placed my order at around 7.30am on the day the selections went live, I still missed out on the Fake Bake.  I can't wait to see the selections for next month.

I picked up the Primark Vitamin Enriched Moisturising Primer because it looked like it was a dupe for the Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base. The Primark version costs £4.50 for 45ml and the Bobbi Brown Face Base costs £48.50 for 50ml, so there is quite a price difference.   I had always wanted to try out the Bobbi Brown product, so when I received a mini version in a gift with purchase goody bag I was really excited to try it out, but I have to say I was somewhat underwhelmed.  I have quite dry skin and the face base did not have as much slip as I was expecting, so it didn't feel smooth when I applied my foundation. For the price I was expecting to love it way more than I did. It does have a lovely lemon smell which I really enjoy, where as the Primark version doesn't really have a fragrance.  Overall, I actually preferred the Primark version as it is thicker and it made for a better base for my foundation. I have wanted to get an LED Mask for ages but with prices for some of them at over £400 I just haven't been able to pull the trigger and buy one yet. So when I saw the LED Light Mask in Primark for £15 I just had to try it out.  The Primark version targets 3 different skin concerns with 3 different types of light sources.
