St. Moriz Tanning Products Review

I have a love/hate relationship with self tanning products.  I like my skin to have a lovely glow, rather than looking pasty white, but sometimes the effort of applying self tanning products is just too much for this self-confessed lazy girl. Now as a person who doesn't tan well (even in the heatwave we had in the UK this summer and when I have been on a 2 week holiday in Orlando), fake tan is a product that I need if I want to have any chance of a decent tan.    I received some tanning products by St. Moriz* to try out, so I thought I would give them a go.  I was imagining a streaky, orange mess on my legs and stains on my clothes (from past experiences when I was younger and products were not as advanced as they are now), but I ended up being very happy with the results and especially with the ease of application.
St. Moriz Tanning Products Review
Lets start of with the St. Moriz Professional Gradual Golden Glow Tanning Moisturiser* (£4.99 for 200ml). Gradual tanning/moisturising products are easily my favourite self tanning products because of their ease of application and the fact that the colour is manageable because you can deepen the colour gradually.  It's also easy enough to hide any mistakes that you make.  I was also sent a St. Moriz Tanning Applicator Mitt* (£2.99) to use and at first I kind of thought I would not need to use it with the gradual tanner as this product is the same as using a moisturiser and I don't need a mitt for that.  Anyway, for once I read the instructions (I am usually too lazy to read instructions about anything, I just dive on in and give things a go).  Don't worry there are not many instructions for this product, but they do recommend using the mitt, so I decided to follow the recommendations and I am really glad that I did.  The product went on so smoothly and sinks into the skin so quickly.  I applied the product before bed and I could pretty much put on my pjs straight away as there was no greasy residue left behind.

In the morning I woke up with a nice subtle glow, no streaks or patchiness and most importantly no dark areas around my knees and elbows (they do give you a tip to bend knees and elbows when you apply this product). I was really happy with the results and how quick and easy it was to apply.  I applied another layer the next morning, just to give me a little more colour and again the results were just as good.

I also received the St. Moriz Gradual Tan & Protect Cream* (£9.99 for 175ml). This is another product that is easy to use.    You exfoliate all over and moisture any dry areas, shake the tube and then apply a small amount all over your skin blending evenly in circular motions.  They do advise you to wear a mitt, but I applied it with and without the mitt and as long as you wash your hands straight after they don't stain.  The tan then develops over 4-6 hours so I usually use this product overnight.   I found St. Moriz Gradual Tan & Protect Cream gave me a nice light tan which I was able to build up gradually to my preferred level over a couple of days.  It didn't streak or leave my elbows and knees looking streaky.

This product contains SPF 30 which is good to see as I haven't noticed that on other fake tans I've used (although obviously you do need to reapply sunscreen as you normally would throughout the day).  Another plus point is that it does not smell strongly at all. This is another product that gave me great results.

The St. Moriz 5 in 1 Tanning Mousse* (£7.99 for 200ml) is great for those of you looking for a darker tan.  This product provides an extra hit of moisturisation with a long lasting golden tan.  You need to exfoliate and moisturise dry areas first then apply the mousse to your face and body.  This product has an instant guide colour so you can make sure you apply the mousse evenly all over.  Your tan develops over 4 - 6 hours and then you just need to shower off the guide colour.  You are then left with a beautiful radiant tan.

Finally, if you do make any mistakes or you simply want to remove the colour as it starts to fade then the St. Moriz Self Tan Remover* (£9.99 for 200ml) is the product for you.  This product allows you to remove the tan without having to scrub your skin and it's moisturising, so it leaves your skin feeling super soft after use.  This is a mousse that you need to apply liberally over your dry skin and then leave on for 5 minutes.  Then simply jump in the shower and use a wet cloth to wipe away your tan.  Voila, you are ready to reapply a fresh new tan.

I think I am a convert to self tanning products, as these St. Moriz products are so easy to use (even dare I say fool proof) and the results are great.  Since winter is almost upon us, I think I will be getting some good use out of these products.  They are great value as well and if you are quick Superdrug have a 3rd off selected St. Moriz products here.  I quite like the look of the Advanced Pro Tan Boosting Facial Serum and the Fast Tan Response Tanning Mist.
