Honest Beauty Haul
On my recent trip to LA I visited The Grove which is an outdoor shopping complex. There are loads of great shops including Sephora, Nordstrom and Anthropologie to name a few, but the store that caught my eye was the recently opened Honest Beauty.
The Honest Company was founded by actress Jessica Alba and the beauty line was launched in September 2015, so I was excited to have a look around to find out more about the products. The store is very minimalist, whilst the packaging is a light grey colour (which is a pain to photograph well I must say). The range contains 17 skin care products and over 60 makeup products and they are all formulated without parabens, phthalates, formaldehyde carriers, PEGS, MCI/MI, Steareth-n, propylene glycol, petrolatum, SLS, SLES, sulfates, mineral oil, synthetic fragrance, chemical sunscreen and they are not tested on animals.
I have to say that the lovely ladies that work there were really friendly and enthusiastic about the products and I came away with a decent amount of samples to try out.
I was mainly tempted by the skin care range and picked up the Elevated Hydration Mist $16 for 100ml (contains chamomile and calendula to help calm and soothe, aloe vera conditions skin while hyaluronic acid attracts moisture, locking in hydration). This is ideal for using after cleansing and throughout the day as needed.
I also bought the Magic Balm $18 for 5g (all purpose beauty balm blends organic fruit and botanical oils to soften and sooth), it can be used everywhere including as a cheek highlighter, cuticle cream and lip balm. The full ingredients list is available on the website.

I loved the material bag that I received my purchases in, it was a great final touch to my first experience of this brand.
The prices were less than I expected and I wish that I had picked up more products, but my visit came at the end of a long and tiring holiday, so I did not have as much time as I would have liked to browse.
Currently Honest Beauty only ship within the United States and as far as I'm aware currently only have one store located at The Grove. I'm gutted that they don't ship to the UK and only have the store in LA as I don't have any plans to go back to LA for now but would definitely like to try more of their products.
Another great thing about this company is that any purchases you make help fund and educate skill-training for young women to pursue their dreams. What's not to love about this company.
Have you had a chance to try out any Honest Beauty products?
