Colourpop Haul Part 2

Image
Here's part 2 of my Colourpop Haul (you can find part 1 here ). I bought quite a few eye shadows and also some eyebrow products.  Here's the eye shadows that I bought. Apologies, I haven't swatched them yet, but I will list the shades below starting with the green at the top and moving clockwise.  They were all $5 on the Colourpop website which is an absolute bargain: Flower Shop - a beautiful metallic green shade. So Quiche - a dark metallic gold with purple glitter. KathleenLights - a gorgeous metallic copper colour. Blaze - a dark bronze with gold and silver glitter. Wattles - a beige pink colour with a little shimmer. Vanity Fair - this is brown with a gold shimmer through it. Hanky Panky - this is a matte beige which is a perfect base. I Heart This - this one is a silver taupe and is so easy to wear on its own (the reason this looks well used is that it was all broken up when it was delivered, so I had to press it back into place). The blush in ...

Empties

Here's a quick run down of the products that I have finished recently. Bath & BodyWorks Amber Blush Fragrance Mist.   One of my favourite scents from B&BW. I always pick some up whenever I am in the USA. Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Velvet Body Milk.   I got this in a perfume box set at Christmas.  I love the perfume, but wouldn't go out of my way to buy this body milk again. Gatineau Melatogenine Essential Skin Corrector .  This was only 15ml and I didn't see any noticeable improvements to my skin so would not buy again. The Skin House Aloe Water Mist.  I think I got this in a MeMeBox.  It was no better or worse than any other water mist I have used. Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask .  I like that these come in individual pods for 1 application as I can take them on holiday with me. Marc Anthony Strictly Curls Stretch .  This product loosens and lengthens curls.  I bought in from a drugst...

Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Shampoo, Conditioner & Leave-In Conditioner

Image
The Shea Moisture range always catches my eye whenever I browse a drugstore in America and now it’s available in Boots it's much easier for those of us in the UK to get hold of.  Of course it’s cheaper in the US, so I decided to buy some of the Jamaican Black Castor Oil range while I was in Florida.  It's free from parabens, sulphates, phthalates, paraffin, propylene glycol, mineral oil, synthetic fragrance, synthetic colour, DEA and there is no animal testing and it's great for curly hair. Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen, Grow & Restore Shampoo with Shea Butter & Apple Cider Vinegar The shampoo is a dark brown colour and is a runny consistency.  It smells like sugary vanilla, but it’s not overpowering or overly sweet.  It lathers up very easily and does not leave my hair feeling all tangled, which some shampoos do.  The shampoo removes build up whilst moisturising the hair. Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strength...

SensatioNail Polish to Gel Transformer Starter Kit Review

Image
I was recently sent the  SensatioNail Polish to Gel Transformer Starter Kit * to try out. I do love wearing nail polish, but as I have weak nails and do a lot of things that tend to make nail polish chip or break my nails I never get to wear it more than 2 or 3 days at a time before it is all chipped and looks a mess. I was really thrilled to get the chance to try  the SensatioNail Polish to Gel Transformer Starter Kit to see if it really worked.   It's fairly easy to use and doesn't take that much longer then applying your normal nail polish.  First f ile and lightly buff your nails and wipe them clean with the Gel Cleanser, then apply a layer of the Gel Primer to nails and air dry.   M ix equal parts of the Polish to Gel product from the kit and your chosen nail polish together in the dish provided.    Then apply a thin layer  of the mixture to your nails and cure them for 30 seconds using the LED lamp from the kit, then ap...

Kat Von D Lock-It Color Correcting Eyeshadow Primer & Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lovesick

Image
Kat Von D Beauty will be available in the UK for the first time at Debenhams on 13th September 2016, so I thought it would be a great time to review the Kat Von D products that I already own. One of the products that I purchased on my last visit to America was the Kat Von D Lock-It Color Correcting Eyeshadow Primer in Medium.  It looks like a concealer pen, but it's not as creamy as a concealer.  It’s easy to apply to the eyelids and then pat shadow onto it and it definitely increases the staying power of my eyeshadow and prevents it from creasing.  I have oily eyelids, which added to hooded eyelids, means that if I apply eyeshadow without a primer, it’s guaranteed to make me look like I have panda eyes in a very short period of time and cream eyeshadow inevitably ends up creasing pretty quickly.  The  Kat Von D Lock-It Color Correcting Eyeshadow Primer  holds the eyeshadow in place, although I haven't tested out it's promise of 24...

Colourpop Haul Part 1

Image
Colourpop is a brand that is all over the internet and I have been desperate to get my hands on it for ages.  When I finally managed to place an order (or 2 or 3), I was so happy.  Here's what I ordered: Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip - $6 From Left to Right: Frick N Frack, Dopey, Spritz & Echo Park I was so happy when Colourpop brought out the Satin Lips as I have to admit that I find Matte Lipsticks hard to wear.  In the end I ordered, Frick N Frack, Dopey, Spritz and Echo Park.  Whilst they are easier to wear than the matte lips, they do still have a matte finish.  When you order online, just looking at swatches, then it's not the easiest to judge whether a colour will suit you. Unfortunately Frick N Frack is too dark for me, Dopey is slightly too grey toned, Spritz is nice, but is just a little too light for me and Echo Park is the best for my skin tone being a darkish nude . They are all really nice colours and consistencies when they are swatched...
