November Birchbox Review (and October too)

I just received the November Birchbox, so I thought I would do a quick review of the contents.

Laura Mercier Ambre Vanille Souffle Body Creme 25g - I was glad to receive this product rather than the Laura Mercier mascara that some people have received, as I have so many mascaras in my stash that it would take me ages to get round to using another one.  The body creme will be an easy one to use.  It has a lovely musky vanilla scent and is rich without being too thick to rub into your skin.

Weleda OAT Replenishing Shampoo for dry and damaged hair 18ml -  I am a bit bored of receiving Weleda products as they have been in quite a few boxes. That being said my hair is dry and damaged so I may as well use this, although on my thick hair I will only be able to test this once, so I wont be able to tell too much from 1 use.

Chella highlighter pencil 1.4g - I have never heard of this brand before, but I have tried this highlighter and it seems to be more of a concealer, eyeshadow base than a highlighter to me.  It doesn't leave a glow on my skin at all.

Spa Find Sculpted Silhouette Intensive Bust Firming Extract Serum 6ml - I don't use this kind of product normally, but I will definitely give it a go.

English Laundry Signature for her Eau de Parfum 2ml - this is a little sample but it smells light and fresh.  Its nice enough, but I probably won't buy the full size based on this sample.  It's not the greatest name either.

There were also a couple of extras:

Pukka Herbs Selection of Teas - I don't drink tea so this one is wasted on me. I wish they would stop putting tea bags in beauty boxes.

Pencil sharpener - I suppose this is to use on the highlighter, but I already have quite a few, so don't really need this one.

Overall this was a nice box and as always Birchbox has come up with a good range of products to try, but I wasn't totally wowed with it.

As I was on holiday for most of October I didn't have a chance to review the October Birchbox, so I thought I would do a quick review now.

I really liked the October box as it had some stand out products.

Top item was Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 in Sand 14.7ml -  I have used this product before in the shade nude and I really like it.  I think sand would be a bit dark for me normally, but as I have a bit of a tan this works really well.  It gives a nice sheer coverage that blends really well.

KMS California Curl Up Wave Foam Mousse  75g - this was spot on for me as I have curly hair.  This worked well at defining my curls without leaving them crispy.  This is a nice size product as well.

Akane Mask Cocoon Nocturne 12ml - this is a fresh apple scented gel mask which helps to beat the signs of tiredness and hydrate thirsty skin.  You apply a thin layer on your face and leave it on overnight, then rinse off the next morning.

TheBalm Cosmetics Stainic 1.2ml - this is pretty similar to Benefit Benetint and gives the same subtle flush on your cheeks.

Dr Lipp Nipple Balm for lips 3ml - strange name, but it works great as a lip balm and keeps my lips soft and smooth and flake free.

Lifestyle Extra - UltraDex Wire-Free Interdental brushes - I use these types of brushes regularly, so I don't mind receiving them as an extra.

Beauty Extra - Egyptian Magic 3x 3ml sachets - I have seen this product in a few stores and been curious about it, but the cost put me off (approx £25), so I was really happy that this was included in the box.  You rub it in your palms until it has changed into an oil consistency then apply.  I have used it on a few dry areas of skin and it works really well, although not sure I would pay £25 for a full size.

I have to say that the October box was one of the best yet as I will use all the products and it was a really nice range.

What did you think of the Birchboxes you received?
