PHB Brightening Hand Cream

I go through a lot of hand cream.  I have dry hands, so I carry hand cream in my bag and also have some with me at work or in the car, so I always like to check out different brands.  The hand cream that I am loving right now is PHB Brightening Hand Cream with Neroli and Ylang Ylang.  PHB stands for Pure. Handmade. British.  It has a strong uplifting fragrance, which is perfect to use throughout the day and the organic butters make it rich and creamy and luxurious.  It sinks into the skin straight away and does not leave a greasy residue behind.  My hands feel instantly softer and look brighter. PHB Brightening Hand Cream is handmade in the UK and is organic.  PHB products are cruelty free and the ingredients have not been tested on animals.  Their products are Certified Natural, Vegan and Halal.  It's free from parabens, artificial fragrances & colours, petrochemicals, formaldehyde, mineral oils and palm oil.
PHB Ethical Beauty is a British family business that produces an awar…

The Hero Project

I was very happy to be sent some samples from The Hero Project recently. The Hero Project is a relatively new British company whose mission is to solve our beauty problems and find out what skincare lovers really want in order to produce products that fit that need.  They want to give us consumers products that really work and help us reduce our mega stashes of beauty products.  It's like a capsule wardrobe of skincare.  So far they have only made 6 products and I was sent 3 of them to try. Hyasoft Instant Moisture Boost* - £19 for 30ml
This is a clear oil free moisturiser which can be applied morning and night, by itself or before your day and night cream.  It's a gel formula which is fragrance free and absorbs into my skin quickly without leaving a greasy residue.  It leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth with no dry areas.  The active ingredients are multi-moleculer Hyaluronic Acid and Panthenol (Vitamin B5).

Glow Drops Dry Touch Facial Oil*- £24 for 30ml This oil is a blend o…

The Ordinary Skincare Haul

I have heard so much about The Ordinary that I had to order some of their products for myself.  The Ordinary is a Brand from DECIEM that also includes NIOD and Fountain amongst others.  The Ordinary is about clinical formulations with integrity and brings to market effective technologies at honourable prices.
All DECIEM products including The Ordinary are free from parabens, sulphates, Mineral Oil and formaldehyde.  They do not test on animals and do not pay others to do so and none of their brands are sold in mainland China (source The Ordinary website).
I bought 5 products from The Ordinary:
Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2%(with 23% pure L-Ascorbic Acid and 2% Hyaluronic Acid Spheres) - This product visibly targets uneven tone and signs of age and should be applied to face in the morning or evening.  It's fragrance and silicone free.  It's £4.90 for 30ml.
Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%.  This is a multifunctional brightening formula, that visibly targets uneven tone, dullne…

My Trusty Skincare from the NHS

It's always nice to find skincare products that have a purpose other than just caring for our skin, so I was happy to receive a box of My Trusty Skincare* to try out.  It came in a cute metal box with a cross on the front which kind of makes it look like a first aid kit.  My Trusty Skincare is a unique sunflower oil based skincare range that was developed and tested by the Salisbury NHS Foundation, who were dissatisfied with the products that were generally available.  My Trusty is the first NHS skincare range that is now available to buy from supermarkets and pharmacies nationwide.  It's also available at Superdrug.  The best bit is that the profits from every purchase go straight back into the NHS.
The natural sunflower oil formula is a rich source of Vitamin E, F and essential fatty acids which intensively moisturise and nourish your skin.  The range is available fragrance free and also there is an essential oil range.  It does not contain parabens, SLS, lanolin or artificia…

Primark Haul - Part One - Makeup & Other Bits and Bobs

It's been ages since I have done a Primark haul and then like buses, you don't see any for a while and then 2 turn up at once.  I have done 2 (or maybe 3 whoops) hauls over the last couple of months after not visiting for quite a while.  It's mainly been makeup and bits and bobs rather than clothes and I must say I have been very impressed with their makeup and beauty offerings when I visited recently.  I don't think I have ever bought so much stuff from their makeup range ,but it just seems so great that I couldn't resist.  Here's some of the items I have bought recently.
I bought some false nails which have a great marble effect pattern, although I will probably take out my eye as they are so pointy.  They only cost £1.  I have way too many nail polishes, but I couldn't resist this lovely coral colour called Coral Pop for only 90p.  I also bought a brow fixing gel in light brown for £1.  I will be interested to see how these work as the prices are so low. I…

What Skin Needs Hydrating Facial Serum Review

I have been trying out What Skin Needs Hydrating Facial Serum* for a few weeks now and I am really enjoying using it.  What Skin Needs is a company I hadn't heard of before.  It's a natural Australian Skincare brand designed to provide effective solutions for skin problems.  It uses a natural blend of vitamins and plant extracts providing beneficial and effective skincare solutions.  The key ingredient in What Skin Needs is Plantolin which is a patented herbal extract that heals and rejuvenates the skin.
What Skin Needs currently offers 4 products and I was lucky enough to be sent the Hydrating Facial Serum to try out.

The description on the website is below:

It's All About The Body - My Favourite Body Products

It's been a while since I wrote about my favourite face and eye products, so I thought I would write about my favourite body products.  These are the products that I am loving right now. Lush Snow Fairy - This deliciously sweet smelling shower gel is my absolute favourite, so I always stock up on it in the Boxing Day sales as it's only available at Christmas time (which appears to be from October these days). I stocked up on 2 1kg bottles which were half price in the sales and should last me until I can get my next stash.  Lush products are not tested on animals.

Optiat Pick Me Up Coffee Scrub Lemongrass Lifter- I got this in a You Beauty Box and it's such a great smelling scrub.  It smells of lemons and coffee which is a really refreshing combo and it's great for a morning shower.  It leaves my skin feeling soft and it's not a harsh scrub.  Optiat transform used coffee grounds into scented scrubs as the fine grounds act as a natural exfoliator and the Optiat Lemongr…

Declutter Part 2 - Blushers, Bronzers & Highlighters

I have already decluttered my makeup palettes (you can read the post here), so I decided to start on blushers, highlighters and bronzers next. This is mainly because I really only wear them when I go out, I don't wear them on a day to day basis, so I am sure I can live without some of the products that I own. Here's a photo of all the products that I own right now (this does not include the 2 blush palettes that I already included in my makeup palette declutter post).
I don't have that many bronzers or highlighters, but I have blushers aplenty including, cream & powder formulas.
The only bronzers that I own are The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder in the shade Fair Matte and Bourjois Bronzing Primer.  I'm definitely keeping TBS Bronzing Powder as it's a nice light matte shade which is perfect for me.  I was pretty sure that I was going to part with the Bourjois Bronzing Primer as it looks quite dark, but it works perfectly under my foundation to give a …

Jouer Long-Wear Lip Topper in Tan Lines & Skinny Dip

I recently posted about my Cult Beauty Haul here and I wanted to review a couple of the products that I purchased.  I first heard about Jouer Long-Wear Lip Topper in Tan Lines & Skinny Dip when watching a You Tube haul (unfortunately I forgot whose channel it was on) and I knew that I had to get my hands on them.  The Jouer Long-Wear Lip Toppers contain coconut oil, so they feel moisturising and hydrating, but they also smell amazing, really sweet like caramel.  The lip topper is very light weight and can be worn on it's own or over the top of any lipstick to add some shimmer.  It's paraben free and not tested on animals. Tan Lines is a sparkly bronze shade.  It feels really smooth on the lip and it's not sticky.  I love wearing this shade on it's own, but it also works well over most lipsticks to give them a bit more oomph.  On it's own it lasted about an hour before I needed to reapply. Skinny Dip is a very shimmery pale gold colour, which is too light for me t…

Cult Beauty Haul & Goody Bag

I recently placed an order with Cult Beauty, because they were offering a free goody bag worth over £200 when you spent £110.  I don't know about you, but I always keep a wish list going for occasions such as this, as it's great to buy things that you want and get loads of free products in the process.  Cult beauty sells some amazing brands like Charlotte Tilbury and Anastasia Beverly Hills, there's so many products to choose from.  Here's what I bought: First of all I bought 2 Jouer Long Wear Lip Toppers (£13.50 each).  These were very recent additions to my wish list as I had only come across them the week before on a YouTube video.  They looked so pretty that I could not help but add them to my shopping bag.  I got Tan Lines (a shimmery bronze colour) and Skinny Dip (a pale shimmery gold colour). They both contain coconut oil and they refresh and add shimmer to your favourite lip colour or you can wear them on their own.  They are paraben free and not tested on anima…

Trilogy Cream Cleanser, Vital Moisturising Cream & Everything Balm

I was happy to receive a little package of Trilogy Products all the way from New Zealand to try out.  I have used the Trilogy Rosehip Oil in the past, which I really liked.  I received the Trilogy Rosehip Cream Cleanser*, the Trilogy Rosehip Vital Moisturising Cream* and the Trilogy Everything Balm*.  I really enjoyed using all 3 products as they are very gentle on the skin.  New Zealand sisters Sarah Gibbs and Catherine de Groot founded Trilogy in 2002 after discovering the benefits of Rosehip Oil and now offer a range of 40 natural skincare products using Rosehip Oil.  The products are available to buy in 20 countries around the world and the range is currently the No1 skincare range in New Zealand.  You can read about all the benefits of Rosehip Oil here.

Trilogy is a cruelty free skincare brand and they are against animal testing.

The Trilogy Cream Cleanser* is rich and creamy and contains rosehip, evening primrose and carrot.  It is easy to massage onto the face, neck and d├ęcolleta…

Nail Polish Storage

You know you have too many nail polishes when your stash looks like this (and there are still some hidden away on top of my wardrobe!!!). I thought it was time that I bought some nice storage boxes so that my polishes don't look so messy.  I looked on ebay and Amazon and found some great options but in the end decided this was exactly what I was looking for. It fits in 48 bottles of nail polish, 24 on each side.  This does include 3 adjustable sections for smaller bottles.  The sections are too small for Ciate nail polishes unfortunately but I've not come across any other polishes that don't fit.  It costs £21.99 per box which admittedly is not cheap when you need to get at least another 3 boxes (the shame!!!!) but I have decided that I will only buy them when I have saved up enough vouchers from the online surveys I complete (see my post about surveys here).
Let me know about any great storage containers that you have found for your beauty stash.
Leigh I bought this product wi…

Pukka Supreme Matcha Green Tea & Cleanse Herbal Tea & Ashwagandha Supplement

I was so happy to receive this package from Pukka to try out.  Pukka produce organic teas and supplements which I was very interested to try out as I don't usually drink tea. I received 3 products to try out:
Pukka Cleanse Herbal Tea* - A radiant blend of organic nettle, fennel & peppermint.  This is naturally caffeine free, ethically sourced with 100% organically grown ingredients. This costs £2.49 on the Pukka website for a box of 20 herbal tea sachets.
Pukka Supreme Matcha Green Tea* - A vital wellspring of organic whole leaf green tea and the finest matcha.  This tea contains matcha powder and 3 fairly traded whole leaf greens - Chinese Sencha, Indian Oothu and Vietnamese Suoi Gand.  It's  100% organically grown with ethically sourced ingredients.  The box contains 20 green tea sachets and costs £2.79 on the Pukka website.
Pukka Ashwagandha Organic Food Supplement* - Ashwagandha is a root grown in India's fertile soils and comes from traditional Ayurvedic medicine.  It…

Yes To Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Facial Wipes

I was definitely intrigued when I came across Yes To Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Facial Wipes.  Why the intrigue?  Well I have never come across black face wipes before.  I have only ever used plain old white facial wipes.  Yes To Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Facial Wipes claim to detoxify and deep clean the skin.  They are formulated without parabens, SLS and silicones and they contain 95% natural ingredients.

Is there any difference to my normal facial wipes?  Not really although you can see all the dead skin that comes off your face, which you would not normally see on white facial wipes.  I don't advocate using facial wipes as your main daily cleanser, but they definitely have a place in my life for when I am travelling, in a rush or just being plain old lazy.  Facial wipes are definitely better than using nothing at all.
Would I use them again?  For sure, I like a good gimmick and they work as well as other wipes.  I actually like the Yes To Coconut Hydrating Cleansing W…

Goody Bags From Cult Beauty, SPACE.NK & Feel Unique

As always you wait ages for a bus and then 3 come at once as it were.  I just checked my email and found 3 emails from Cult Beauty, SPACE.NK & Feel Unique offering a free goody bag when you spend a certain amount.  I don't know about you, but I try and hold back on any purchases until one of these offers comes around, so I thought I would give you a quick heads up about all the goody bags that are available right now.
Cult Beauty This is a fab good bag worth £210 when you spend £110.  There are some great products in the goody bag which are listed here and it's pretty easy to spend £110 at Cult Beauty because they have some amazing brands available.  In fact it's so easy that I have already put in my order.  The goody bag is limited availability, so if you are tempted then I would put in your order asap, as the offer could disappear at any time.  The goody bag will automatically be added to your shopping bag, when you spend over £110.
SPACE.NK The SPACE.NK beauty gift is w…
