Use it or Lose it Challenge

I am planning to do a post on decluttering soon, but I thought I would start it off by doing this post called Use it or Lose it.  As the title suggests, I have picked out some products that are currently in my stash that I hardly use.  Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with any of them, I just don't reach for them that often.  Therefore, I have challenged myself to use them as many times as I can in September and if I still like them then I will keep them.  If on the other hand, I barely use them in September, I will get rid of them (either on ebay or via my blog sale).  Here's a photo of the products I need to use or lose in September.

Urban Decay Naked Palette - Cost £37 -  I really don't know why I haven't used this palette much as its full of great easy to wear shades.  Possibly, smaller palettes are easier to store so this one gets pushed to the back on a shelf out of reach
MAC Warmth of Coral Blusher (from the semi precious collection) - I think this cost around £19 - I can't remember using this at all so will have to try it out to see if I like it more than Nars Deep Throat or Orgasm as they are my go to blushes right now.
Mac Strobe Cream - This is the 30ml travel size which costs £12.50 - At the moment I like to use a moisturiser under my foundation to help with my dry skin, so I will have to see if this is moisturising enough for me
Chanel Illusion D'Ombre long wear luminous eyeshadow in Emerveille (this is a gorgeous gold and bronze sparkly eye cream, but I seem to reach for the darker Illusoire more often than not so this has hardly been used - Cost £24
Clinique Chubby Stick in Chunky Cherry - Cost £17 - I have 3 Chubby sticks and hardly use any of them so I thought I would pick one out to see if I will use them more
Max Factor Foundation Ageless Elixir 2 in 1 Foundation + Serum (Warm Almond) - Cost £12.99 - I tend to favour tinted moisturisers and BB creams at the moment, but will try and switch this into the mix and see if it works on my skin
Smashbox Photo Finish Primer - Cost £25 - As I already mentioned,  I tend to use moisturiser under my foundation so have stopped using primers.  I need to check if this product still works for my skin
Shu Uemura UV Underbase mousse SPF30 in pink - Cost £29 - This is still sealed.  I will try it under my foundation to see if it enhances my skin

Yikes! The 8 products that I have chosen for the challenge have a value of nearly £180 and I am not even using them.  It really puts it in perspective how much money I waste on products that I will hardly ever use.  I plan to do this challenge all of September and I will provide an update with the results at the start of October.

Feel free to join in the challenge and comment below on what products you are going to include on the Use it or Lose it Challenge.

  1. That is a great idea for a Challenge (: I do a challenge named "12 months, 12 eyeshadows", and every month I pick an eyeshadow and I try to reach to it the most (:
