Ishga Exfoliating Face Mask Review

I love visiting spas and I regularly visited Serenity Spa at Seaham Hall Hotel (read my previous review here).  It was on one visit to the spa that I came across Ishga products which was a brand that I haven’t heard of before.  Ishga makes Organic Scottish Seaweed skincare products and I decided to buy the Ishga Exfoliating Face Mask.  The Exfoliating Face Mask contains pure high quality Ascophyllum nodosum seaweed powder combined with natural Hebridean Seawater.  The seaweed grains exfoliate and remove dead skin cells and is ideal for all skin types.  It costs £35 for 50ml.
 Ishga Exfoliating Face Mask

The key active ingredients are natural saltwater, kelp seaweed powder and rose geranium essential oil.  I'm not going to lie, this product is not pleasant to look at as it’s a dark brown colour and you wouldn’t want to answer the door with this mask on as it looks like you have smeared something slightly unsavoury all over your face.  The smell is hard to describe, it's salty and reminds me of walking near the coast where seaweed fills the water.  It's not unpleasant or overbearing, just unusual for a skincare product.  Having said that I don't think I have ever used a product where the key ingredients is seaweed, so that's probably why I find it unusual.  That being said, it left my skin looking and feeling cleaner and the pores on my skin were definitely less obvious.
 Ishga Exfoliating Face Mask

To use this face mask, apply it all over your face and neck and leave it on for 10 minutes.  The mask dried and tightened on my face in that time.  Then dampen it and massage over your skin and rinse.  I have to say that I love multitasking products as they are a real time saver.

Ishga is from the Gaelic word for water and the products have been developed on the Isle of Lewis by Hebridean Spa Ltd to harness the natural antioxidant and anti-ageing properties of seaweed.  The seaweed is hand harvested in the clean, pure waters of the Hebrides to produce a 100% organic ingredient  and the products work on every skin type.   None of the products or ingredients are tested on animals.

I have enjoyed using this product and look forward to trying out more.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream All-Over Miracle Oil Review

The weather is so humid here in the UK right now, so it's all about lightweight products that don't leave me feeling sticky and uncomfortable.  I am loving Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream All-Over Miracle Oil right now.  This is a wonderful lightweight oil spray that you can use on your face, body and hair.
Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream All-Over Miracle Oil Review
It contains Tsubaki Oil and I find that the spray makes it easy to apply all over my body and I can also spritz some on my hands to apply to my face and the ends of my hair.  I really love multitasking products, don't you?

The oil doesn't leave my skin feeling greasy and absorbs quickly, leaving my skin looking and feeling soft and moisturised.  The oil costs £29 for 100ml, but I was very lucky to pick it up in a gift set with a couple of deluxe size samples for $19.99 at the Elizabeth Arden Outlet Store at The Premium Outlets in Orlando on my recent visit to the US, which was such a bargain and I really should have picked up some more to bring home with me.

I am loving oil products at the moment including lip oils which I have reviewed here.

Milani Moisture Lock Oil Infused Lip Treatment Review

I am obsessed with lip oils and face masks at the moment (I know it's a bit of a random combination!).  So I thought I would start off reviewing one of my recent lip oil purchases, Milani Moisture Lock Oil Infused Lip Treatment.  I bought 2 on a recent visit to Florida, the Nourishing Raspberry and the Protecting Pomegranate Lip Treatments.  They both have a fruity fragrance, but it's not strong which is good and you can taste it a little when you first apply the lip treatment.  There is the faintest colour, but my lips are quite highly pigmented so the colour does not show up on my lips.  It's a thick oil consistency, but it doesn't feel sticky on my lips and it makes my lips feel instantly moisturised as soon as I apply the lip treatment.
Milani Moisture Lock Oil Infused Lip Treatment Review

The only thing I don't like is the doe foot applicator.  It's much too big and really stiff.  There is no give in the applicator whatsoever.
Milani Moisture Lock Oil Infused Lip Treatment Review

Overall I like the Milani Moisture Lock Oil Infused Lip Treatments and I think they are a great alternative to a lip balm or the high end lip oils currently on the market. There are 8 shades available and they contain jojoba, avocado and tsubaki oils.

Milani is a drugstore brand and I bought the Milani Moisture Lock Oil Infused Lip Treatments in CVS for $8.49.

What other lip oils do you recommend?

Solgar Collagen Hyaluronic Acid Complex Supplement Review

I was recently sent a bottle of Solgar Collagen Hyaluronic Acid Complex Supplements* to try out.  I've been taking the supplements over the last few weeks now.   You only need to take one tablet daily with a meal so it's easy to fit into your routine (I normally take them with my lunch).

I'm all for trying anything that helps keep my skin looking and feeling good without resorting to anything extreme, so I was happy to try these supplements out.    The tablets are on the large size so if you do struggle to take tablets for any reason these may not be for you.

Since using these supplements I haven't had any problems with my skin and I do think they are worth including as part of a daily skincare routine.

Solgar Collagen Hyaluronic Acid Complex Supplements are available at Holland and Barretts for £33.79 for 30 tablets (1 months supply).  It's worth shopping around to see what deals are out there as there are a number of websites that sell this product.

It's All About The Face - My Favourite Face Products

This post is All About The Face - My Favourite Face Products.  I have already posted about my favourite  eye products (It's All About The Eyes) and my favourite lip products (It's All About The Lips).
It's All About The Face - My Favourite Face Products
I have quite a lot of face products on the go at the moment and here are some of my favourites:

First on my favourites list is the all important SPF product.  It appears that summer has finally come in the UK and we have just had a lovely hot, sunny weekend, so I have been covering myself in Ladival Sun Protection SPF30. It's a non-greasy spray which is easy to apply, doesn't clog up my skin and sinks in pretty quickly.  It does not leave a white cast to my face either.  This is quite a new product to me and I got it from a beauty box.  It's water resistant and suitable for sensitive skin. It's currently £10 for 150ml in Boots (normal price £13.50).

During the summer months I prefer to wear a tinted moisturiser, rather than a foundation.  I really love Olay Regenerist  CC Complexion Corrector*.  It contains SPF 15 UVA/UVB moisturiser + anti-aging serum + sheer foundation. This is perfect for my dry skin.   It's currently £16.65 in Superdrug (normal price £24.99.

Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask is great for my dry skin.  I apply it to my face and then leave it to work it's magic overnight.  It's that simple.  My skin looks and feels lovely and soft with no dry patches. It's £24 for 100ml.

I use REN Instant Brightening Beauty Shot Eye Lift (I won this in a twitter chat) around my eyes. See my review here.

I do love a good facial spray and my favorite right now is Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater.  See my review here.

I love a good facial oil for keeping my skin nourished and moisturised. I am currently using Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil Light which I picked up in Sephora on my recent holiday to Florida.

I have a few cleansers that I like to switch between.  I use Sephora Triple Action Cleansing Water when I want a quick clean and Nude Perfect Cleansing Oil (£28 for 100ml here) for a deeper clean.  I also like using pure coconut oil which works well.

I have only just got into Glycolic Acid products, but I am having some good results with that cult favourite Alpha H Liquid Gold.  I am hoping that it removes some of the dark spots on my cheekbones from too much sun in the past.  Its £33.50 for 100ml here.

My favourite skin primer is MeMeMe Seventh Heaven Moisturising Face Base. It smells delicious, a total citrus burst of lime, lemon, orange and mandarin.  It's the perfect base for foundation and helps keep my skin looking great all day.  It's £15 for 30ml.

I really like using Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream when I don't require an SPF (usually overnight).  It really helps to keep my skin constantly hydrated and is light textured and does not appear to be fragranced.  Its £24 for 50ml.

I haven't put a face scrub on my list as I have to say that I have never found one that I keep going back to. I generally just buy whatever's on offer, so if you have any recommendations for a face scrub, I would love to hear them.  I also use a serum regularly, but again I haven't found one that makes me want to repurchase, so I am open to suggestions.

Coming soon - It's All About The Hair - My Favourite Hair Products.

Zoya Nail Polish Haul

Zoya is my absolute favourite nail polish brand.  I love it.  I don't get to buy it often as it's quite expensive in the UK and not available is many shops in the US. So when I get a chance to buy some I generally go mad.  These are some that I recently purchased.
Zoya Nail Polish Haul
Colours Left - Right:
Ki - This is a gorgeous multichromatic oil-slick shade combining silver, purple, blue and green with a metallic finish.
Prim - This is a blue metallic colour
Oceane - This is a lovely turquoise colour with silver sparkles
Brigitte - This is a dusky pink colour which is one of my favourite colours at the moment
Faye - This is a pale purple with lovely golden sparkles
Autumn - This is a burnt orange metallic colour with sparkles

I also couldn't resist buying the Petals Full Collection Set for $40 which also came with a free nail polish remover, which sadly I couldn't fit in my case for the journey home.
Zoya Petals Full Collection Set
Colours Left - Right:
Leia - This is a sheer white colour with flecks of fuchsia, green and gold
Aster - This is a lovely lilac with flecks of fuchsia
Azalea - This is a hot pink with white and fuchsia flecks
Zahara - This is a coral with pink flecks
Tulip - This is a peachy pink with a hint of shimmer
Laurel - This is a pale pink with a hint of shimmer

I love these colours they are so great for summer.  They all needed 2 coats each but dried fairly quickly and look great.

There are so many great offers on, so it's worth signing up for their email offers.  I bought the top set with a BOGOF offer so each polish only cost $5 which was a great bargain.   Both orders also had free postage.   They unfortunately don't deliver to the UK so I bought these using a service where you can have packages delivered to an address in Florida and then have them delivered to your hotel when you are on holiday which is a great idea.

What's your favourite Zoya nail polish?

Pixi Beauty LipLift Max Review

Pixi Beauty is one of those brands that keeps coming up with must have skincare and beauty products.  Ever since the brand came to my local Marks & Spencer branch, I just can't get enough of it.  I started out with the cult Glow Tonic which I love and every time I browse the stand in M&S I always want to pick up something new.  The prices are very reasonable too.  I recently bought LipLift Max in Petal Ice which is a glossy lip plumper.
Pixi Beauty LipLift Max Review
I have thin lips, so I am always looking for ways to enhance them and make them look a little plumper.  I love wearing glosses as the shine seems to give the effect of plumper lips.  Lip plumpers sometimes have an unpleasant tingling effect, but that's not the case with LipLift.  It has a nice minty freshness, but no tingling sensation, so that's a great start.
Pixi Beauty LipLift Max Review
It looks pink in the tube, but goes onto the lips translucent with just the faintest shimmer effect.  I think it's that shimmer that gives the illusion of making lips look fuller and it maybe just fills in the creases a bit.  This all adds up to making your lips look great with minimal effort.  It costs £12 for 2.7g.

Pixi does not test on animals and is free from parabens and mineral oil.

Kylie Jenner Sinful Colors Nail Polish Haul & Review

I can't say that I am a fan of the Kardashian/Jenner Reality TV Takeover, but I do love a good nail polish and when I walked past the Kylie Jenner Sinful Colors stand in Walgreens, the beautiful colours sure made me look twice.  For $2.99 each I could have easily bought the whole collection, but in the end I managed to whittle it down to 8 polishes.
Kylie Jenner Sinful Colors Nail Polish Haul & Review
I bought 5 Polishes from the Trend Matters Demi Matte collection:
  • Karma - A light mauve with gold shimmer
  • Kurtsey - pale lilac with gold shimmer
  • Kommotion - a pretty purple/blue with gold shimmer
  • Silhouette - lavender with gold shimmer
  • King Size - Purple with gold shimmer
Kylie Jenner Sinful Colors Nail Polish Haul & Review
Left to Right - Karma, Kurtsey, Kommotion, Silhouette & King Size
So far I have tried out Kommotion and King Size.  The polish is slightly thicker than I am used to, but it applies really well and you get full coverage in just 2 coats.  It dries really quickly as well and it didn't chip straight away like a lot of polishes that I use.  The gold shimmer really shines through (more so than in the photo above), but it's not in your face sparkle.  Overall, I would say that these are brilliant for the price.  The colours are perfect for summer, easy to apply and don't chip straight away.  What more can you ask for?

I also bought 3 polishes from the Denim & Bling Matte range:
  • Krop Top - a textured, matte dark pink
  • Kobalt - A lovely bright blue colour
  • Kargo - A luscious dark green (this one is much greener in real life than in the picture below)
Kylie Jenner Sinful Colors Denim & Bling Matte
Left to right - Krop Top, Kobalt & Kargo
These took 2 coats for full coverage and again dried fast.  I haven't tried them out yet, but I love the colours.

I cannot fault this range, the colours are really nice and it's really hard to decide which ones to buy as the price is such a bargain that I wanted to buy them all.

Balance Me BB Natural Perfection SPF 25 Cream Review

I thought I would review one of the products that I'm using at the moment Balance Me BB Natural Perfection with SPF25 cream.  It's not a new product but it's an important part of my skincare routine.
Balance Me BB Natural Perfection SPF 25 Cream Review

The information on the back of the tube states 'Smooth away imperfections, address uneven skin tone and give your skin a flawless finish with our protective, nourishing, plumping and radiance-enhancing BB cream SPF25.'

I love using this product. I have quite dry skin and when I use foundations and BB or CC creams I do have to put moisturiser on first to make sure my skin doesn't dry out, especially around the nose area.  This is one product that I've found that I can apply to my face without a layer of moisturiser and I have no dry areas.  It has a light coverage, that adds a hint of colour and I like that it has an SPF25, as it's great to know that my skin is being protected when I wear it.
Balance Me BB Natural Perfection SPF 25 Cream Review
I just apply a light layer after I've cleansed my skin and blend it with my fingertips. It helps even out my skintone and just gives my skin a lovely natural finish.  It's great to apply makeup over as well.

I love the Balance Me brand as they do not use parabens, sulphates, petroleum, mineral oils, silicones, dea, pegs, propylene glycol, artificial fragrances and colours. The BB Natural Perfection Cream is 99% natural and made in the UK which is great. There's more details on the company here.  There is a list of ingredients for this product here.  Balance Me does not test on animals or distribute to countries where testing on animals is obligatory.

This product costs £26 for 40ml but it's worth shopping around to see what offers are currently on.  I would definitely purchase this again as it's my go to BB cream.

I won this product in a prize draw but the opinions are my own
