*Christmas is Coming - Gift Ideas - Taskmaster The Board Game

*I received this product for free but the opinions are my own.

Taskmaster The Board Game* is based on the hilarious Channel 4 comedy game show starring Greg Davies and his assistant Alex Horne. The premise of the show is that they set silly tasks for a bunch of well known comedians to complete and the results are often extremely amusing and sometimes very very messy.

Taskmaster The Board Game

Well with this board game you get to replace the comedians or if you so choose become the Taskmaster in your very own home (or someone else's  might be preferable as things could get messy).

The game consists of a game board, rules sheet, scoreboard playing pieces, perforated paper slips, Taskmaster trophy, 200 task cards and a wipe-clean pen. The game is suitable for 8 years+ and is for 3 - 5 players and it takes between 30-45 minutes to complete the game. The task cards are divided into 6 piles - kitchen tasks, living room tasks, lab tasks, garden tasks, final tasks & secret tasks and placed in the corresponding locations on the board. One of the first things to do is take a secret task card, which you can't show to anyone and then you need to carry out that task covertly during the course of the game. For instance one of the secret tasks is to snort gently every time you laugh. The aim of the game is to score more points than your opponents from an agreed number of tasks. A different player adopts the role of The Taskmaster for each task except the final task.

Players complete each task with The Taskmaster timing the task if necessary and at the end of each task The Taskmaster awards points to each player. At the end of the game each player has to write down what they think the other players secret task was. Any player whose secret task goes undetected is awarded extra points.

A final task is then carried out by all players (there is no Taskmaster at this point). The player with the least amount of points at this stage takes a card from the Final Task pile and scans the QR code on their phone and plays the video task read by The Taskmasters Assistant.  At the end of the game the player with the highest score is awarded the coveted Taskmaster trophy.

Remember that in this game The Taskmaster is always right and you are only here to serve the Taskmaster. This is a really fun game for all the family and will be great to pull out at Christmas to get the festivities going.

Here are a few examples of the tasks involved:

Kitchen Tasks - Write a poem about plumbing in which the lines start with the letters STOPCOCK (titter!!!)

Living Room Tasks - Make an unexpected shadow on the wall.

Lab Tasks - Make the worse smell (lets hope that no one playing the game can fart on command shall we). Not sure who has a lab in their house either.

Garden Tasks - Camouflage yourself.

Final Tasks - Take it in turns to balance the most items on your face whilst standing on 1 leg for 20 seconds.

Taskmaster The Board Game can be purchased direct from the Taskmaster store for £21.99 or from places like SmythsArgos or John Lewis for £20.
