I picked up the Primark Vitamin Enriched Moisturising Primer because it looked like it was a dupe for the Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base. The Primark version costs £4.50 for 45ml and the Bobbi Brown Face Base costs £46.50 for 50ml, so there is quite a price difference. I had always wanted to try out the Bobbi Brown product, so when I received a mini version in a gift with purchase goody bag I was really excited to try it out, but I have to say I was somewhat underwhelmed. I have quite dry skin and the face base did not have as much slip as I was expecting, so it didn't feel smooth when I applied my foundation. For the price I was expecting to love it way more than I did. It does have a lovely lemon smell which I really enjoy, where as the Primark version doesn't really have a fragrance. They are both quite rich, thick creams, but the Primark cream is a bit bouncier, so I think it has more of a mousse consistency with a bit more air in it. They both feel the same on
I am a big fan of the Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum cream as it smells divine and leaves my skin feeling silky soft and hydrated, but it's not cheap at £44 for 220ml (it is also available in a travel size pot of 75ml which costs £18), so when I saw that Aldi was selling a dupe called Lacura Booty Balm Body Cream for £6.99 I had to give it a go. I know that some people don't like the idea of brands making cheaper dupes of other companies most popular products, but honestly I am ok with it. First of all, because I usually buy the high end version first and then test out the cheaper version at a later date and also because sometimes you just can't afford the expense and still feel like treating yourself. For instance the Jo Malone fragrance dupes from Primark are a nice cheap alternative. I have a fair few Jo Malone perfumes which cost almost £50 a pop, but they are a special treat. On the other hand when I am browsing around Primark, it's so easy to grab a few of th
Another step in being more sustainable is moving to reusable straws. I wouldn't say I use straws loads as I wouldn't use a straw for a hot drink and I usually drink from cans but I should try to use them more as I want to try and protect my teeth from damage as I do drink a lot of Pepsi Max (but that's a whole other story). I saw these stainless steel and glass reusable straws at Poundland for £1 each (obviously) and thought they were worth a try. The stainless steel ones are all identical with the bend at the top. They come in packs of 4 and they can be used with hot or cold drinks and a cleaning brush is included. Cleaning them is easy, you just hand wash them using the cleaning brush which takes a couple of minutes max. They are hand wash only so can't be put in the dishwasher. It does advise you to take care using it with hot drinks as the straw may become hot but as I mentioned before I don't really see the need to use them with hot drinks and in all fa
