Colourpop Haul Part 1

Colourpop is a brand that is all over the internet and I have been desperate to get my hands on it for ages.  When I finally managed to place an order (or 2 or 3), I was so happy.  Here's what I ordered:

Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip Haul
From Left to Right: Frick N Frack, Dopey, Spritz & Echo Park
I was so happy when Colourpop brought out the Satin Lips as I have to admit that I find Matte Lipsticks hard to wear.  In the end I ordered, Frick N Frack, Dopey, Spritz and Echo Park.  Whilst they are easier to wear than the matte lips, they do still have a matte finish.  When you order online, just looking at swatches, then it's not the easiest to judge whether a colour will suit you. Unfortunately Frick N Frack is too dark for me, Dopey is slightly too grey toned, Spritz is nice, but is just a little too light for me and Echo Park is the best for my skin tone being a darkish nude. They are all really nice colours and consistencies when they are swatched, just not quite right for my skin tone.

Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip - $6
Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip Haul
From Left to Right: Lumiere 2, Bianca & Clueless
I knew I would be taking a risk ordering the Ultra Matte Lips as I have quite dry lips, so tend to shy away from anything matte, but for $6 I thought it was worth taking a chance.  I'm glad that I did, as the colours were much better for me than the Ultra Satin Lips above.  Yes, you have to prep your lips before applying the Ultra Matte Lips, but the staying power makes it worthwhile.  It's so nice not to leave lipstick marks on glasses and cups all the time.  Lumiere 2 is a dark, dusky pink, Bianca is a dark nude and Clueless is a cross between the other two, a nice dark nudey pink.

Colourpop Lippie Stix Haul
From Left to Right: Croquet, Hype Girl, Polite Society, Lumiere & Contempo
Colourpop Lippie Stix were my favourite out of all my purchases.  They are easy to apply, they don't dry out your lips and the colours were pretty much all fab.  I really wish that I had bought more.  They are an absolute bargain at $5.  I bought Croquet, a lovely sheer pink, Hype Girl which is a pale nude colour.  This was the only Lippie Stix that did not suit me.  Polite Society is a lovely coral shade. Lumiere was my absolute favourite.  It's a deep pink colour. Finally, Contempo is a perfect dusky pink shade.  I also bought the primer, which works wonders under the Ultra Matte Lips.

Colourpop Lippie Pencils - $5
Colourpop Lippie Pencils Haul
From Left to Right: Dopey, Lumiere, Contempo & Brink
Finally, I bought some Lippie Pencils.  I bought Brink, Contempo, Lumiere and Dopey to match the the lipsticks that I bought.  I think I must have lost the Brink lipstick as it's not included in this lip haul, but I like the lippie pencil so it's a shame I can't find it.  Contempo and Lumiere can be worn on their own or with the matching lipstick and they are both great shades of pink.  Even though the Dopey Ultra Satin Lip did not suit me, the lip pencil in the same shade does not seem to have the same grey tinge to it, so I will keep this one as it's a nice dark pink shade.

Overall, I am pleased with my haul and it's a shame that not all the shades I picked suited me, but for the price it's worth taking a chance on ordering them based on the swatches that are available on the Colourpop website.  I will be posting the 2nd part of my Colourpop haul soon, which will include eyeshadows, a blush and some eyebrow pencils.
