Honest Beauty Haul

On my recent trip to LA I visited The Grove which is an outdoor shopping complex.   There are loads of great shops including Sephora, Nordstrom and Anthropologie to name a few, but the store that caught my eye was the recently opened Honest Beauty.
Honest Beauty Haul
The Honest Company was founded by actress Jessica Alba and the beauty line was launched in September 2015, so I was excited to have a look around to find out more about the products.  The store is very minimalist, whilst the packaging is a light grey colour (which is a pain to photograph well I must say).  The range contains 17 skin care products and over 60 makeup products and they are all formulated without parabens, phthalates, formaldehyde carriers, PEGS, MCI/MI, Steareth-n, propylene glycol, petrolatum, SLS, SLES, sulfates, mineral oil, synthetic fragrance, chemical sunscreen and they are not tested on animals.

I have to say that the lovely ladies that work there were really friendly and enthusiastic about the products and I came away with a decent amount of samples to try out.

I was mainly tempted by the skin care range and picked up the Elevated Hydration Mist $16 for 100ml (contains chamomile and calendula to help calm and soothe, aloe vera conditions skin while hyaluronic acid attracts moisture, locking in hydration). This is ideal for using after cleansing and throughout the day as needed.

I also bought the Magic Balm $18 for 5g (all purpose beauty balm blends organic fruit and botanical oils to soften and sooth), it can be used everywhere including as a cheek highlighter, cuticle cream and lip balm.  The full ingredients list is available on the website.

I loved the material bag that I received my purchases in, it was a great final touch to my first experience of this brand.

The prices were less than I expected and I wish that I had picked up more products, but my visit came at the end of a long and tiring holiday, so I did not have as much time as I would have liked to browse.

Currently Honest Beauty only ship within the United States and as far as I'm aware currently only have one store located at The Grove.   I'm gutted that they don't ship to the UK and only have the store in LA as I don't have any plans to go back to LA for now but would definitely like to try more of their products.

Another great thing about this company is that any purchases you make help fund and educate skill-training for young women to pursue their dreams. What's not to love about this company.

Have you had a chance to try out any Honest Beauty products?

I bought these with my own money.

Scentered Therapy Balm Review - Sleep Well & Stress Less

Having just returned home from a fabulous holiday in Los Angeles & Las Vegas, I can tell you that jet lag is not fun.  Considering the time difference is -8 hours, I have struggled to get back to a normal sleep pattern since I arrived home.  I can get to sleep at my normal time of 11pm, but I keep waking up for a couple of hours around 2am, which isn't great when you have to go to work.
One of the products that I am finding helpful is Scentered Sleep Well Therapy Balm which contains Palmarosa, Lavendar & Ylang Ylang and helps to clear the head, quieten the mind and relax the body.  Simply apply to pulse points on your wrist or neck and inhale deeply.  I find this definitely helps to calm me before  helping me drift off to sleep and I will definitely take it with me on my travels, as it's easy to use and pop into my bag and can be carried on the plane, so I can use it whenever I feel the need.
Scentered Therapy Balm Stress Less
I also have the Stress Less Therapy Balm which contains Chamomile, Neroli & Mandarin and helps to ease everyday tensions, soothes the mind and lifts the spirits. I am taking this to work with me, to help me through a hectic, busy schedule.

These 100% natural therapy balms can be purchased on the Scentered website for £14.50 for 5g.  All the products are made in England and they do not contain Parabens, PEGS, SLS, glycols, petrochemicals, silicones, synthetic fragrances or colours and they are not tested on animals.  The company was started in 2011 when Lara Morgan joined forces with Fay Pottinger and 10% of the net profits support Women for Women International an organisation that empowers women to improve their lives and rebuild their lives in war-torn regions.

Do you have a tips for jet lag?

I bought these with my own money.

Maple Holistics Argan Shampoo and Silk 18 Conditioner Review

I'm Back!!!!  I've just returned from a great holiday in Los Angeles and Las Vegas where I've been for a couple of weeks.  Look out for my post soon on everything I got up to there.  The blog has been a bit quiet in October as I just didn't have a chance to write anything that I could schedule to post while on holiday, so hopefully regular service will resume now.  Also look out for my competition that will be starting in November. Anyway, I will stop waffling on and get on with my post.

I was sent some products from Maple Holistics to try out recently and after using them a number of times here's what I thought of them.
Maple Holistics Argan Shampoo and Silk 18 Conditioner Review

Argan Special Formula Shampoo* - this shampoo is for all scalp types and contains argan, jojoba, almond, peach kernel, camellia seed, avocado and botanical keratin for maximum hair nourishment and therapeutic action.  It's sulfate free and not tested on animals.  On first application it doesn't lather at all, you leave it on for a couple of minutes to absorb before rinsing and then repeat. The 2nd application lathers up nicely.  This product has a lovely scent that's not too strong and I can smell a faint scent on my hair the next day.  I really like this shampoo it cleans my hair nicely and I only have to use a small amount of product for each application.

Silk 18 Conditioner* - this conditioner contains 18 different silk amino acids to improve moisture retention capacity, including alanine, glycine and serine.  I only had to apply this product once after shampooing my hair and my hair feels really silky and soft after use.  It has a lovely scent that again isn't too strong.

Maple Holistics has one goal in mind, to provide a natural, holistic range of premium products which can enhance hygiene, health and daily living.  Only the purest and highest quality ingredients are used in each product, maximising the therapeutic potential for each specific area of health. None of their products contain any ingredients which have been tested on animals and they are all vegan-friendly.

Maple Holistics is an American brand which can be found here at  Some of their products are also available on although prices are higher.

*I received this product free but my review is completely my own and I was not paid for this post.
