Poundland Haul

Image
Now that my spending ban has finished I have managed to shop a few good hauls lately. Here's my latest one from Poundland. I was really pleased to find these Baby Lips  SPF20 Lip Balms.  I got 2 smoothing and 1 protecting.    I got the 2 Hard Candy products in 1 package.  I got Kal Eye Descope Baked Eyeshadow Duo 067 Pick Up Line and Show Girl Loose Glitter (I must admit I thought this was nail polish when I bought it).  I also got a Revlon Scented nail polish in Ocean Breeze. I got 3 Revlon Baby Sticks for lips and cheeks in Pink Passion, Tahitian and Sunset. Finally I got a set of Eylure Pre-Glued Lashes. I thought that was a pretty good haul.  Have you bought anything good from a Pound Shop lately? Leighlee I bought these with my own money

Toms Haul

Image
You know when you find that Holy Grail product, it doesn't happen often but when you find it you can't believe you lived without it?  Well Toms are my Holy Grail footwear. They fit perfectly and I just want to buy all of them. Usually when I buy new footwear I know that when I first wear them they are going to rub away the skin on my heel and I am going to avoid wearing them for ages until I absolutely have to.  I don't know if its the shape of my feet or what but I can't get shoes that just fit perfectly.  Until Toms that is, I love them.  I have in the past bought them in the Office sale and the options were limited but when I went to the Glamour Evening at Trinity Leeds they had 20% off most of the footwear in the shop including Toms .  So I did what any self respecting shopaholic would do and bought 3 pairs (hangs head in shame). At least on the plus side they do give a pair of shoes to a child in need for each pair bought.   Anyway I thought I would do a quick

Glamour Shopping Evening at Trinity Leeds Review

Image
I recently posted about a Glamour Shopping Evening at Trinity in Leeds.  Well I attended it and had a really good time so I thought I would do a quick post on it to let you know how it went. On the night if you spent a certain amount you could pick up a free gift Spend £10 - receive PICK ‘n’ MIX sweets Spend £20  - receive a TREAT COCKTAIL Spend £50 - receive LINDT CHOCOLATES AND A BEAUTY BAG Spend £100 - receive £10 TRINITY LEEDS GIFT CARD I don't really need any encouragement to shop so the above was a bonus. I honestly didn't go out to buy anything in particular, I just thought I would go and check it out as I've never been to a Glamour Shopping evening or any other type of Glamour event. The event started at 6pm so I went to Zizzis first for some food (using my tastecard ) and then went to Trinity around 6.15pm. I had to queue up for a wristband first (so that you could get your discounts in shops) and there was a queue already but it was pretty or

Tangle Teezer Dupes

Image
I have had a Tangle Teezer for a while now and I'm a big fan.  I have curly hair that leans towards being dry and frizzy. I don't like to wash it every day as it gets unmanageable, so it means that it does tend to get knotty and a Tangle Teezer is the only way that I can brush through my hair easily without it hurting or breaking the hair when wet.  It's my favourite brush ever and I can't see myself ever not using it as it makes brushing my hair so much easier. The reason I'm writing this blog is that I recently bought 2 brushes that seem similar to the Tangle Teezer and were a bit cheaper.  I bought my Tangle Teezer for £10 at Space.NK  they are £10.50 now, which is actually cheaper than Boots where I think the same type was around £10.99. The first brush I bought was Michel Mercier Detangling Hair Brush for thick hair. I like the fact that this brush has a handle.  When I used it I found that it got through the tangles in my hair as quick as a Tangle

Birchbox Review - April 2014

Image
I still like the idea of getting a mystery box of beauty treats every month.  Most of the time I can't help but check out spoilers, but this time due to being really busy at work and also revising for an exam, I didn't have the time or inclination to check out any spoilers.  The only item that I knew about was the nail polish because they allowed you to pick the colour that you wanted to receive, prior to receiving the box. Hopefully, this is something that Birchbox will expand on and allow you more choice about what you receive in your box. Here's what I received: I received a sample of TheBalm Cosmetics How 'Bout Them Apples Lip & Cheek Cream. Its a very small sample, enough to try out and see if its worth buying the full size of. The packaging is super cute, like a book where the cover opens to reveal the product. I received the shade Pie.  As mentioned above, I received a Nail Polish by Color Club.  I chose the shade Aquamarine Azulino which i

YOU Beauty Discovery Box Review - April 2014

Image
I received another great beauty box from You Beauty this month.  This box has an Organic and Natural inspired theme. The two items that I picked were both face masks.  The Clayspray Brightening Mask (white clay with ginseng) which exfoliates, renews and energises for normal/combination skin and  Clayspray Glow Mask (red clay with cacao) which exfoliates, rejuvenates and nourishes for normal/combination skin.  Both are 30ml and cost £15 each at feelunique.com . I also received a sachet of The Organic Pharmacy Face Cream Antioxidant and a 9bar fruity which is a mixed seed energy bar.  I can't wait to try out the masks.    Rather than spray the mask directly on to your face, which is what I expected (and would probably be way too messy), you spray or moisten your skin with natural mineral water, then dispense the product on your hand and massage into the area to be treated.  Leave on until dry and wash skin with water until clay is all removed.  I think I feel a pamper session

Poundland Haul

Image
I always like a good pound shop haul, so I thought I would do a post on my last one (done before the start of the no spend challenge, if you have read my challenge post here ). Here's what I bought from Poundland in Leeds city centre. I have bought quite a few false nails from pound shops and Primark and I prefer the adhesive tabs rather than glue as its not as messy and really easy to do. They cost a bit more in Boots where I normally get them from.  I bought the Nail Stamping kit on a whim as Ive never dabbled in nail art before so I'm gonna give it a try. As I said above I have bought loads of false nails lately and they have mostly been £1 which seems like such a bargain and I don't feel I have to keep them on for a long time to get my monies worth.  I just need to wear them on 1 occasion and can then take them off as I'm not great at doing things when I'm wearing longer nails. They are by Allura as are the products in the photo above.  I love the colo

Empties so far in 2014

Image
Here's a post of all the products I have used up so far in 2014.  I have been trying really hard over the last couple of months to use my products regularly. I have just finished a 60 day spending ban so I have been trying to use up all my old products before I can buy any new ones.  Anyway here are the photos of my empties.  I will just mention the ones I've really liked and would buy again or the ones that I didn't really get on with and definitely wouldn't buy again. LOVE, Chloe EDP 50ml.  I really like Chloe perfumes and have bought the original, LOVE and SeeBy Chloe.  I would buy this again but would probably wait for the Christmas sales as I have so many perfumes at the moment. Balenciaga Paris EDP 50ml.  I bought this in the Christmas sales a couple of years ago and have finally finished it.  I liked this scent and would buy it again.  Its a very feminine, classic scent.  A Chypre Violet with the green, fresh signature of the flower and its leaves.
