Chanel Azure

Image
Hi Everyone I hope you have had a really great weekend. I thought I would do a quick post on my new nail polish Azure from Chanels Summer 2013 Collection.   I fell in love with this polish on sight a couple of weeks ago when I was in Manchester for a Robbie Williams concert.  I popped into Boots and swatched all 3 colours from the collection (I did a post on it although I apologise on the quality of the photo as I had to do it quickly in Boots and it didn't really do the polishes justice).  At the time I couldn't really justify £18 no matter how gorgeous the colour was.  Since then I managed to get £18 worth of Boots advantage points so I couldn't resist and just went for it.  It was worth every penny (or advantage points anyway).  There is something so satisfying about having a designer shopping bag in your hands.    The polish is absolutely gorgeous in the bottle and on my nails.  It is a beautiful Teal colour and I think it will be my number one polish

imPRESS Nails Press-On Manicure

Call me lazy, but there are some days when I just cant be bothered to paint my nails.  Unfortunately, I have not been blessed with super strong, super long glamourous nails.  Whats a girl to do!  Well I like to cheat and use imPRESS stick on nails.   I have been using impress nails for the last year and I think that they are fab. They are really easy to use, all you do is pick out the 10 nails that match the size of your own nails (you get 24 nails in 12 sizes in each box). Peel off the strip on the back of the nail and stick the pre-glued nail on top of your own. It could not be easier. I put the nails on Friday night, went shopping and to a concert Saturday, went horse riding Sunday, then I was working Monday and Tuesday and constantly typing away on my computer. Along the way I showered and washed my hair daily. So the nails have been through a lot and they have stayed firmly in place. They have lasted 5 days so far with no problems. They make my nails look polished and

Chanel Summer 2013 Nail Polish Collection

Image
The Chanel makeup counter in Boots caught my eye when I was in Manchester last week.  Specifically the Summer Collection 2013 that was on display.  I love the 3 new nail polishes and I swatched them all to see what they were like.     My favourite is the one on the left, 657 Azure.  Its a beautiful metallic teal colour (bluish-green) and it looks just as nice on the nail as it does in the bottle.  The middle colour is 667 Bel-Argus which is a wonderful metallic blue and the lovely summer coral colour is 647 Lilis.  Whilst they are all beautiful colours, I feel that Bel-Argus and Lilis are similar enough in colour to polishes I already own, so I don't need them.  Azure on the other hand really catches the eye and I can't think of another polish that I own which is the same colour, so I think I am going to buy this one.   Sadly, its not a bargain at £18, but I have enough points on my Boots advantage card, so I will use those.  That way I won't feel too guilty.

Favourite Nail Polishes

Image
Now that its officially summer (fingers crossed this weather lasts more than a few days) I have been rumaging in my nail polish collection to find those forgotton summer colours.  Here are a couple of my favourites:   First up is Lilacism by Essie.  I really do think that this is the perfect lilac colour.  Not too grey, not too white.  It really suits my skin tone and I can wear it for work or going out.  A perfect allrounder.  Two coats is enough for this polish, which makes things quick and easy.  Heres a photo (not my best work, I didn't have time to tidy up the edges.  I really must learn to leave a gap round the edges to keep them neat). My other favourite is Chanel Rose Exuberant  This a fabulous deep pink colour, which again needs 2 coats for full coverage. I love Chanel polishes and I consider them a real treat (I think they cost about £18).   I only own 4 Chanel nail polishes and my favourite is Miami Peach.  Sadly when I  went to use this polish, I fou

Magazine Freebies

Image
Hi There are lots of magazine freebies around this month and here's what I picked up yesterday.     The main reason I bought so many was that the magazines were not full price in Tesco.   I bought 2 Red Magazines for £2 each (normally £4 each).  These came with a free tube of Elemis Pro-Radiance Illuminating Flash Balm (15ml) worth £11.50 each.   2 Glamour magazines which had free MODELCo makeup.  I picked up the Ultra Lip Gloss in Berry Pink worth £16 and the Fibre LashXtend Mascara worth £16.  The magazines were £1 each (normally £2 each)   Finally, I bought Marie Claire (£2.50 instead of £3.80).  This came with a free Ciate Nail Polish and Caviar Set worth £10.  Both are mini sizes and the polish is a nude colour, whilst the cavier is gold and silver with a few other colours thrown in for good measure.  I have never tried the caviar so am looking forward to using it.   I spent £8.50 on the magazines and the freebies are worth £65.   Happy shoppin

Empties

Hi all One of the things I am trying to do this year is declutter my house and that actually means trying to use up all the products and makeup that I keep buying, so I thought I would do a post about the products that I have finished this month and just do a quick review on each one.   John Frieda Frizz Ease Spray Gel – I have curly shoulder length hair that tends to get quite frizzy if I don’t use the right products and this gel spray worked a treat.   I love the frizz ease serum and this is another great product to keep the frizzies at bay.   I would buy this again. This is £5.89 at www.boots.com. Liz Earle Hand Repair – This is a nice thick hand cream that keeps my hands moisturised throughout the day.   I probably won’t buy it again though as I don’t think you have to spend more than a fiver for a hand cream really, or just use body lotion as an alternative.   This is £15.75 at www.uk.lizearle.com . Bioderma Crealine H2O Solution Micellaire – this is such a hyped pro
